We might have a better idea if you posted the shot or told us your camera settings, but my best guess is that you had it set to Auto White Balance and the camera did it's best to try and come up with a neutral color balance(neutralizing the color). For those situations try taking the photo with White Balance set to Daylight and also shoot Raw + Jpeg so you can try adjusting the white balance later on the raw file if the camera does not get it right for you.
This was before the camera was submerged momentarily into the same beautiful water that is in 3rd photo. I hardly used 5DIII over this vacation instead RX100III was always with me. Really liked the form factor & great capability that the camera offers in such a small package.
