Oh and those are the prototype RRS feet on the Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II and 400mm f/2.8 IS II I tested for RRS. I've got the real ones on there now Both lenses were purchased new from B&H. I gave an extensive review of them on FM.
I sort of feel bad for the OP.
I'm disappointed in B&H.
I'm feeling very frugal and most important:
My wife will never again tell me I have to much stuff.
Sir, with all the money you've got, why the hell are you restricted to purchasing only from B&H?? Just askin... they give you special preference or something? Hell, if I had your bucks, I'd go any cotton pickin' where I'd choose to go.
wow, netexpress... you got me squarely on your side!!! i'm humbled... now i'd like to know wtf b&h has as evidence that you're a reseller especially since 2 people as well as their FM spokesperson all came to the same cornclusion... oops, there's the iowa in me coming out

And what kind of "reseller" buys just one camera? If i were a reseller looking to make big profits i'd be buying 5-10-15-20 cameras.
The B&H response reminds me a bit of the downfall of Netflix and the stupid statements their CEO was making.
I'll be sure to share this thread with my social network.
Someone posted that B&H has 10,000+ pre orders for the 5DIII. Thats over $35,000,000. They could be really busy doing other stuff, not that it helps the OP any. Perhaps thats why "no answer" reply.

Henry Posner of B&H did reply in this thread a couple pages back, he basically just accused the op of being a reseller by sharing his computer parts website.
I know Ken Rockwell buys all his gear from B&H, he probably has just as much if not more than netexpress, i wonder if his orders get cancelled as well....he has a website too lol
Netexpress, I understand the pain of losing your spot in the line for those hot items. It might be worth your getting in touch with Helen Oster, the Adorama representative on this board, and asking her if, in return for this massive amount of business, there is something Adorama can/will do to help with delivery times. Such as giving you those items that people who no longer want them cancel. That way, they are not pushing anyone back in order to let you in, but you get a much better shake than starting right at the bottom.
Frankly, I am at a total loss as to what is happening to B&H here. Even Henry's answer, far from helping, makes them look worse. Either there is more to this than we're seeing, or that business is treating customers like UPS treats packages.

I've got close-ups of the serial numbers and PDF of the B&H invoices that match going all the way back to 2004 which I'd be happy to provide to B&H had they only asked. As you can understand I don't want to post the serial numbers here because someone may try to register them to use the photos for a shill sale on eBay. In fact I should probably pull these photos down later on so someone doesn't use them on eBay to defraud someone. But I could certainly send the serial number close-ups to a third party along with the PDFs.
Bottom line everything in my FM profile I own. End of story.
You can check my FM sales history - 12 items...wait for it...
Purchased 300mm f/2.8 version II from B&H (have PDF and serial numbers) and then sold my old 300mm f/2.8 version I (have PDF and serial numbers) .
The only items I have like there is where I purchased the newer version.
oh horse crap, netexpress, sorry, sir, you've got more money than gawd; quit your belly achin' and buy elsewhere and then STFU. Or is this a "poor me" thread?
Everybody complaining about going somewhere else....the key point is that he was on a preorder waiting list (several). You can't just go anywhere and suddenly be at the front of the waiting list. I think that is part of the reason the OP is trying to resolve this with B&H.
That's pretty good! I've gotten a few UPS special deliveries in my day!
The worst one was when someone sent me an item and packed it in a FedEx box and shipped it via UPS. Our they were not amused by that. It can in flat as a pancake!
This sucks. I think to the OP it isn't JUST about principle or proving them wrong, but to get his spot in line back. I know I would! You should cross post this in the Nikon and Canon forums. That would cause a small grease fire

I think folks are looking at this from a big picture perspective. At this point, the matter is about far more than just a pre-order slot. We're talking principle.

Well that is truly and issue.
Also - hey I can't say I haven't had a bad hair day in my life. People have forgiven me for it. We never know what goes on in individual employees personal lives. Sometimes we have to be the better man about it. I can do business with a company that once in a while has one or two bad hair days as long as they come to their senses and when they are in batting season they bring it home.
But seriously I'm considering this case closed. I have lots of leads now. Thanks guys!
I have bought a lot of gear with B&H. I still do. On more than one occasion they've dropped the ball though. Dodgy packaging of expensive items, notifications not working, informing me after I "purchased" an item it was out of stock etc.
The worst was a security stuff up their site. For about 12 hours a few years back if you logged in you could see the personal information of other customers, as well as in flight orders. I spotted this and raised this on DPReview and others confirmed this was widespread.
Despite this I still shop with them because on balance they're pretty good.
Anyways, wish the OP the best and hope B&H get's it act together...
