I sure hope this works itself out.
I have always had a good experience with B&H. My D4 is on backorder with them. (Even checked out their HUGE NYC store a couple weeks ago).
The funny thing is if netexpress was in Vegas he'd be comped shows, dinners, and nice suites. What does B&H do to its "whales"? Makes accusations backed up with idiotic evidence and cancels their orders lol
Hi Roland,
I just wanted to let you know that I read all of your posts, and like everyone else here, I'm also very surprised to find out that this happened to you. I sent two emails to the people I work with at B&H and asked them to please take a look at your situation. In all of the years that I have worked with B&H Photo, I have never heard of something like this happenning.
Unfortunately, I personally don't have any power over decisions made at B&H Photo. They are a completely separate company and entity, and hopefully someone will take notice and resolve this for you asap.
All the best,
Fred
Looking at all your equipment, do you actually use all of that stuff? Not that I begrudge someone for collecting gear I'll only dream of owning, but man you've got a lot of stuff!
Even if I were fabulously rich and didn't have to work, I'm not sure I would have enough hours in the day to actually use all of what you list.
Do you dedicate certain days / weeks to certain systems / lenses, or shoot mostly subject "X" but every now and again bust out the ALT glass, etc?
Just curious is all - I'm not sure I'd know where to begin if I had all that gear.
(then again, realize I'm seeing this huge list all at once, whereas you've been collecting for a while it seems...so there is the "shock and awe" I'm experiencing that perhaps you don't! )
Not wishing you any ill will netexpress but could you kindly have your wife pm me if you should ever "kick the bucket". that is going to be one kick *** estate sale

I like the Goldman Sachs reference - too funny! Read about that on ZeroHedge.com!

I should write FM members into my will. If my blood pressure gets up any higher than it did today it'll be mark to market on that piece of paper for everyone.
I agree...hence my post before this one even mentioned principle

I think folks are looking at this from a big picture perspective. At this point, the matter is about far more than just a pre-order slot. We're talking principle.

That's great!!! With all this great stuff it is hard to choose what I want. But since i'm first in line can you put down for the....... sensor swabs
Hmm, nobody raises eyebrows when somebody who has enough money buys a $500k car to impress chicks, but if you spend a lot of cash on a hobby like photography everyone thinks you are crazy. Those B&H guys should give you their "platinum club" membership and special customer service phone line number or whatever they reserve for most important clients rather than doing this.

Those are killer cases! I never thought about using one for a refactor - good idea!
Yep. Takahashi contracts with Tenba for their refractor cases. That's how I first learned of Tenba tripod cases when I was looking for something to match my scope case.

Fred you forged this family and I am so grateful to you. It has enriched my humble life. So thank you so much!
I may be kicked out of B&H but I will always be an FM'er.
Come to think of it maybe you are responsible a little bit for my gear acquisition syndrome
FM - the best darned site on the planet for people like us! WoHa!
Well, if henryp didn't get it all sorted out for you, we DO have a first rate camera store in Michigan that does match B&H, and since the state's economy sucks, I'm sure they'd appreciate your business...try Norman Camera. I've purchased from them w/o any problems (though you might present a challenge to them...keeping up with all the stuff you order).
(BTW, in the interest of fairness, I have ordered from B&H before without a problem either.)

Well I go in stages. Initially I study and learn. Then I move on. Then I come back and re-integrate the old with the new. I guess I work in cycles with it.
Right now I'm really interested in the Darn Nikon D800E that Mike was talking about (That I had on back order with B&H) because I want to see what a kit like that with my Zeiss and Leica glass would do compared to the Hasslblad. The Hasslblad is phenomenal. But it's delicate and heavy. Imagine you could do the work of a Hasselblad with a D800E and Zeiss plus Lieca glass? The Zeiss 21, 35, 50 and 100 ZF and perhaps the Leica 28/2.8, and the three luxes, 35, 50 and 85 and perhaps the 90/2 and 100 Macro? That would be a killer kit. And no one has ever done it before! That's what I want to try next!
Only I won't have the D800E for a few month now so I'm passing the torch to Jorge and Mike and the rest of you for now.
Netexpress, I submit that you should just buy B&H, that would be quite the piece of flare to add to your FM profile "for the man who has one of everything"
As for me, the flippant response by Henry is enough to turn me off. I won't be shopping there any more either!

You are correct sir. I think this point has been made by many a eccentric FM'er. Some like fast cars, some like audiophile gear. People like us like photo gear. Nothing wrong with it...
