Adrian - I like the lamp post lit tree, something about the compositionn that draws me to it.
Tenn.Jar - Nice in the first shot you captured the bird eying up something.
Wnichols - I really like the shot from below up it to the branches and flowers of the dogwood and the dandelion shot you just posted.
Peter - I see you are finally finding the real use of the 50 1.0L, flower photography. It's one of my favorites for flowing shooting lens.
Jefferson - In the 2nd redbud shot I like how you managed to incorporate two diagonal branches in the shot giving a patterned look with one in the forground and the other softly tucked away in the background.
Edd - terrific captures with the 400FD, The bees in flight great and the background of the bird I love how it rendered, just outstanding.
Skumar - You make me want to go outside with my my neglected Zeiss 100 and capture a few flower shots. The first flower shot is so inviting and nicely positioned.
Tritran - I love how you captured all of Peter's Ducks lined up in a row waiting for his signal to take to the air. Seriously nicely done,, I like the capture of the black and blue bird nice blend with background.
As promised, i am back. Some really awesome stuff posted up in the last week i see. I love the hummingbirds especially, but the other wildlife stuff is all amazing too. And Edd, how do you get Bees in Flight with MF? Thats really something.
Surgery seems to have gone well, as Edd passed on, but i'm not allowed to carry much weight around or strain my back for a couple of months. So i guess i'll be more of a lurker on the spring thread this year. Still, something from last year, perhaps appropriate - looking to the future:

Very nice, 15Bit.
Glad to have you back....with your back fixed.
No 400 f/2.8 lens handholding for you till the summer.

Well 15Bit, it kind of sounds like: Ack-Ack-Ack...breath...Ack-Ack-Ack...and repeat...
It's good to see you back; mend well my friend...
Just a couple from today, but if the weather holds out for a while tomorrow, the macro gear(s) come out of storage. Jim Colwell got me to buy an APO 120mm Mamiya Macro last year, so it is time to put it to work.
The finch is one of about a dozen or so that have taken up residence here in the hemlocks, and the shyness is starting to wane, albeit slowly. Shot with the 5D and FD 400mm f2.8L wide open.
Love what you're doing with the "legacy" lens there, Edd; the background blurred limbs form a perfect arc over the finch - - outstanding!
Welcome back to the (vertical) living, 15Bit; take care of yourself... (your little Rebel with the 50 f/1.4 would weigh practically nothing...just sayin'...)
Peter - the only way i need to worry about lugging a 400/2.8 around is if you post me one of yours over Jerry's rebel + 50mm is not a bad idea though. I've had a lot of very nice shots from that combo in the past. Indeed the seaside shot above is from the FF equivalent - 5D and Samyang 85mm f/1.4. Its a focal length i get on well with.
15Bit: Great to see you "on-line"...take it slow, step by step.
kturnbull: Really nice series on the hummers; thanks for sharing.
Tenn.Jer: Jerry, other than the weight, that 400mm is really great in the imaging department. The f2.8 helps in so many ways, along with changing the screen to a EE-s (5D) and shimming to sync the image planes. Thanks for the comments; that lens is going to be with me for a long time, unlike my "loaner" 800mm...
Peter: That 50mm f1.0 is another very unique image-maker; the florals look great on the screen here; beautiful work with that.
Just one from today while waiting for the rain to make it to the woodlands, which are over-dry right now. Everyone out here needs to play nice with the chainsaws and limited burning, or it could get out of hand really fast.
Good new stuff, one and all.
The blackbirds are largely back and they have staked their nesting territory.
It looks like many other southern migrants have returned, and flora is awakening too which is a neccessity for nice background in nature photographs. In many places lawns are green already with fresh growth of grasses.
A couple to brighten the mood; way too much drama around the best, newest, or mine is more expensive than yours, in some other threads around the ranch...some folks need to get a grip...
Peter: Nice shot of the RWBB...hope to see some here soon. The robins are now back.
Tenn.Jer: Jerry, very nice...
Vilimo: Thanks for sharing a place that I need to get too more often...
Anyway, two from my capable T1i, running the Mamiya 120mm APO Macro (for 645), and the really ancient FD 200mm f4 Macro (does 1:1 without tubes).
No bees in flight today...my shudder is still smokin'
