Well, my camera is at home - my wife picked it up for me, after I got the call from The Camera Store - but I'm stuck in Toronto, so i won't get my hands on it until tomorrow night.
I'm with you Jonbrach, I received my order confirmation from B&H at 4:17AM on 3/2 and have heard nothing yet and my order on B&H's website still shows backordered. I've seen a number of posts from people who ordered later saying theirs is being shipped. I went through the same thing with them on my 1DIV finally cancelled the order and bought from Amazon. Back then they finally admitted that their ordering system did not work properly with respect to filling orders based on when the order was received. Next they will be shut down from the 6th through the 15th. I guess I should have known better.
Was per-ordered with B&H from early morning on 3/2. Impatience really set in. I like B&H and have always had great service, but just for kicks I called the only good camera store close to my home (still 30 min away). I bought my 5D Mark ii from them They had gotten three in today and had 3 back orders to fill. They checked with one person who was not due back in town for another few days and as a result it opened it up for me to go pick up. I had to pay tax, but oh well. Took it to the kid's karate tonight and was really impressed with the performance. For me, definitely worth the upgrade from the Mark II. Good luck to those who are more patient than me.

Amazon has given no indication of what is going on. Apparently they are shipping to some people, but telling me they did not get any in and have shipped any out. So I don't know what is going on. I ordered on the morning of 3/2 and thought Amazon would have it, but apparently not. I cancelled my order with Amazon and will now look elsewhere even though I may have to wait weeks.
profeel just called, gave me tracking number...my 5d3 will be arriving Monday. Glad I went with them instead of waiting until April with amazon. -_-
I got a call from my local camera shop (Richmond Camera) too, and they said they had one left in stock in the shop, but I would have to pay the sales tax on it, so I will gladly be patient and wait until Monday and save a few bucks.
Sorry to hear that. I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and got my order confirmation on Fri, Mar 2, 2012 at 12:20 AM. They shipped mine yesterday and it is now on a UPS truck for delivery today. So they definitely had some in stock. I ordered the body only.
What delivery method did you choose? next day, second day, etc...? I noticed from last time when I ordered my 5DII with them that they seemed to ship out the orders with next day and second day first before they ship out the ground shipping orders (despite the ground shipping order were placed first).

When did you order from Profeel? I ordered late Wednesday morning. They promised that my camera would ship today. I haven't heard from them yet
hey chris, I ordered wednesday afternoon. Around 2pm. I had emailed them today to get an update, and a customer service rep called saying it was being delivered today. I was impressed I got a call to be honest.

I paid for next day delivery and I am a Prime member. Glad I cancelled though. I ordered from Profeel as I've been their customer and B&H's for over 10 years now. I'll get mine next week. Perhaps Amazon would come through, but they are clearly lying to me, or the CSR is just blowing smoke up my skirt.
FYI - I JUST cancelled my preorder from Amazon. First time I have been let down on a preorder like this (AKA impatient). I ordered from Norman Camera just a few minutes ago (3/23 at about 1:05 PM EST). VERY friendly guys. Call the Kalamazoo Store & Warehouse at 800-900-6676. Saturday delivery! Gives me hope that businesses will survive in the big store/Amazon era we live in (and I do love me some Amazon).

They had both kits and body only in stock when I called. YMMV.
Spoke to Profeel on the phone this morning and was told my camera would ship out today. No tracking number just yet. I went with the free ground shipping.
Going to cancel my Amazon next day delivery once I get a valid tracking number from Profeel.
I can't find the body only in stock. If anyone knows of a place PM me. So much for all those 5D3's they can't sell because the D800 is so much better and in demand...

I'm in the same boat. Had one lined up at profeel, but didn't pull the trigger. Now they're saying they won't have another shipment until April.
Any well known shops have any bodies in stock today?
