Hi,
I'm going to all primes, so here goes:

First up, the good:
1. Canon EF Lens 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM
Date code: US0901 Serial Number: 2192xx
Bought new from B&H in April, 2005
Hand-picked from about ten samples for immaculate internal optics.
Comes complete with new-condition box, blank US warranty card, hood, both caps, pouch, and all packaging.
Bonus: Canon 77mm Sharp Cut UV (0) filter with box.
Now then, onto the not-so-nice part. I'm a very, very honest seller so I will disclose as much as I know to you...
1. The 17-40 has two imperfections. One is inconsequential, the other might be a matter of concern for some. First off, it has a small scuff on the front lens cap (from a run-in with some car keys) that you'll probably never notice. I've attempted to take a picture of it, but it's really, really small. Have a look:
If the buyer is insistent, I'll go to B&H and buy them a new lens cap, though this is just a miniscule, tiny scuff.
Second, the lens was dropped at a party one night this summer. While functioning absolutely perfectly, has sustained some body damage. Now, I've not formally tested the lens, but I've shot with it extensively on my 10D and on a 1D since and have not noticed any focusing issues, vignetting, CA, loss of contrast or sharpness. Both rings spin great. AF works perfect, there's no issues with the contacts. In fact, it operates so perfectly that I've not noticed the damage until maybe a month or so ago when I was cleaning it.

Aside from this, the lens is perfect.
Even if you've never heard of it and are remotely intrerested, please have a look at the samples. Don't take my word for it, I highly recommend you to request my samples. The proof is in the pictures!.
I can provide RAW files for anyone interested, since I'm sure you'd probably want to see for yourself that it shoots great before forking over your hard-earned money. I totally understand. I've put up shots at:

Now, If you'd like to trade, here's a few items I'd consider for trades (partial or otherwise):
- Metz 54MZ-3 or MZ-4 (SCA 3102 foot is requisite) If you can offer me one of these, I'll give you a deal won't refuse. Much better than what I have down at the bottom.
- Sigma 30 f/1.4
- Studio lighting equipment (Alien Bees or similar)

I've bought and sold several lenses on this board along with a bunch of other equipment. I've not sold much on eBay so I don't have much feedback there (all positive).

I would also like to add that I am going to B&H tomorrow to try and replace this lens. I don't expect it will work out, but if it does then the price will increase. Jump on it now while it's cheap!
