Here's some history: I am the second owner and bought it from a friend who shoots motocross professionally. He bought the camera in November 2002, and I bought it from him in May 2004. I've used it much less than he did. I do not have the software to determine total actuations, but I estimate 40,000 give or take.
There are some strap wear marks on the bottom of the body and a small scratch on the back LCD. In March 2004, the top LCD was cracked and Canon replaced it together with the top half of the body, at which time Canon also put on a new CCD filter and lens mount. The camera is not a sheltered studio babe; it's been used outdoors.
The camera is a fantastic performer and has presented no glitches throughout the time that I have had it. It focuses and tracks superbly and has been utterly reliable. It has produced numerous published photographs for advertising and editorial content in major motorcycling magazines (largely with its former owner), the most recent the back cover of the November 2004 issue of RacerX Illustrated. I'm getting a 1DMkII and would live to keep this as a back up, but the master of the house has only so much budgetary tolerance for my hobby and I am stretching it to the limit.
