An Industar 69 is on it's way to me, I was going to bid on a pair of Pen F 40/1.4 lenses, but was in the middle of work when the auction ended and just missed them both

Last night I picked up a Rokkor W MC SG 28mm 3.5 for the tidy sum of $13. $20 landed to home. So if it is in as good condition as described by seller on ebay, I'll be very happy.

sorry didn't see your reply until just now. no, what i mean is the when the distance scale is exposed turning the focus ring does not give continuous manual focus. the focus distance jumps from one set distance to the next without allowing you to focus in between them. manual focus is more precise when the distance scale is not exposed.

a description of how it works can be found here:
http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2011/11/olympus-12mm-review.html

I tried it tonight with mine, and you are indeed correct. I can't say I would have ever noticed that. It is somewhat odd...maybe they feel fine focus isn't as possible with the shorter throw?

Anyway, it's not a huge deal, because most of the time if I'm going to pull back the ring, it's going to be to zone focus / hyperfocal etc...especially since the AF is so fast and accurate. It is odd, though. Wonder why they did it that way.

Yeah, Olympus is making real photographic gems as of late. The E-M5 looks fantastic...a great blend of retro mechanical solidity and modern features. Their newest lenses all look (and perform) great...from the 12/2 and 45/1.8 to the new 75/1.8 (which looks to be the same build style as the 12/2) and the 60/2.8 Macro. Maybe we'll see a 150/2.8 prime next!

Wouldn't it be nice to see a real birding lens?!?!!!

Say, a 300/2.8 or an 800/4

Or even a nice zoom maybe! https://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=106

LTM39 ist the most rare mount. M42 or Exakts should go for less.

Today I added up MD Zoom Rokkor 35-70/3.5 to the collection above.

Excellent lens, sharp and contrasty with nice colour rendition.IQ wise it is on par with primes at 35mm and 50mm,both w/o and stopped. It gets slightly worse at 70mm,but f5,6 solves all problems. No wonder Leica utilized it's optical construction.Found it very similar to my Zeiss Vario Sonnar 35-70/3.5 by means of it's ability to replace 35, 50 and to some extent 70mm primes.

Finally I picked up today mint - copy of Minolta MC W Rokkor SI ( 55mm filter thread, 9lenses/7groups) told to be the best out of all 24mm Minoltas, optical sibling of the Leica 24/2.8 Elmarit.

Compared to my copy of Minolta 24/2.8 MD it is sharper in corners, crisper overall and has nice Leica-like rich, clean colours. It outperforms my 24/2.8 Zuiko (sharper, contrastier, better colours) and rivals 25/2.8 C/Yand ZF Distagons for better corner sharpness at close distances.A keeper for sure.

I picked up my first ZF from the post office today - 25/2.8. Pleasanty suprised at the size and handling, I was missing my 28 ZE and this hopefully will help with that.
