Yes Yakim, they are both a little bit front-heavy,but in case of 14/2.8 the lens barrel is small so I keep it with my whole hand and as such the lens altogether is pretty well balanced.
BTW-my hesitation concerning 35/1.4 is over.I just bought.......Zeiss ZF 25/2.8.I just wanted something wide with a close up facility to be able to get into flower calyces since my old Sigma 24/2.8 Super WideII died and was devoured by fungus.Samy 35/1.4 will have to wait a little bit)

Just picked up a Yashica ML 50/2 (along with FX-3 Super 2000 and FR-1 bodies). This is the beginning of the kit which will replace the OM kit that I never quite jelled with.

Adam, you will like the 50/2 ML: dainty, producer of fine images, and cheaper than a lens cap. Please comment on the two Yashica bodies, particularly build.

The FX-3 is a Cosina body and one of the less refined versions. Plastic shell over a cast metal frame. Decent viewfinder, good metering but feels cheap, even compared to the later, better Cosina bodies (like the FM10 or OM2000) due to the chintzy wind lever and shutter release. It's also missing a couple of the features that all of the Yashica/Kyocera-built bodies have like aperture readouts in the VF and DoF preview.
The FR-1 is the best of the Yashica branded C/Y cameras. Quite well built, it's based on the RTS frame and is essentially an RTS with traditional shutter dial location. Great finder, nice metering readout, handles well. Needs an AE lock though. I've owned the FR in the past, which I didn't like as much. Downside is that all FR bodies have a tendency to eat their frame counters, it's common point of failure (My FR had this issue). The metering on/off switch is a little weird as well but OK once you get used to it.

Is that double-image on the "8mm" letters actually on the lens?
No, that's motion blur. Hand held and flashing through a fluorescent bulb to diffuse the light. :P

Those are 'C' mount right?
Yep! The 8mm one looks like it will be quite nice! Very rich looking coated elements! I duno what kind of coverage I'll get tho - but there's always the reduced sensor sizes if they vignette too much. I haven't shot with either yet.
The 100% peeks into the images are pretty incredible too. It seems to be one of those lenses that doesn't want it's images processed! Any sharpening almost at all does little but add halos. Colors are also very rich without boosting anything. So really all there is to do is adjust for exposure error and/or crop. Heh, Yashinon, who knew?

Sadly it's permanently attached, after handling this little RF I have a greater desire for a Pen F, which adds to my list of bodies to get.
An F, F2, F1n, AE-1, and an OM2n, spotmatic1000, ME super, Nex 7, 1DsIII... WHEN WILL IT END?
