Currently waiting for a LNIB Contax Zeiss 50/1.4 SN above 95x with the Contax metal lens hood to arrive. It's been a while since I was so excited for a simple 50mm.

Got it! Purchased here on B&S from Chuck Coyne (thanks!).
Love it! I'm anxious to get back to my computer in March to start PP on the images.
Now, have to figure how to wrangle the 50/2 and 21/2.8 Loxias.

Looking forward to the arrival of a Zeiss Loxia 35/2 lens for my Sony bodies. After reading all the pros and cons, it seems like it could be a great lens for me.
I plan to do some sort of (minimalist) comparison, based on the way I use the lens. If I'm not smitten, there's little sense in keeping the APO.
I love the rendering of the SY. It's just the build quality that's questionable. Though, you could go through 4 Samyang/Rokinons, and still come in under one Zeiss APO.

Naturally, I'm exceedingly interested in your opinion of the AS135. Be aware that I am a CZ fanatic and have expensive glass in their earlier mounts, notably the AS200/2 for Contax but the AS135 is better, newer and cheaper, so I can be convinced to upgrade my fast plastic 135. I would need assurance that CZ linearity, LCA, TCA, and bokeh are within striking range of the mighty Samyang. Build quality and flare control are presumed good.

Cheap Canon nFD wideangles - 35/2.8 and 28/2.8 are pretty good.Actually very good, stopped down. The 35/2.8 is a tad better,as I can get even sharpness across the A72's frame at f5.6,whereas the 28/2.8 shows farthest corners a little fuzzy even at f11 (like many other, more expensive 28/2.8 lnses),but is rather evenly sharp at f8.
Mamiya made Rolleinar MC 135/2.8 in Rollei QBM mount - probably the closest in nearly every respect (sharpness, size, built, weight) to Sonnar C/Y 135/2.8 of all 135/2.8 lenses, but 3-4xcheaper.Very good to excellent lens.Hardly anybody knows it.
Nikon Series E 35/2.5 - slightly worse than the nFD 35/2.8,but still nice at f8.
Nikkor 200/4 AI - optically identical with it's AI-S descendant, but slightly larger and lighter.Very good overall.
Can you say no to the mint copy of Canon nFD 24/2.8?I coudn't,though it is my third.
