Of all the older Minolta 35/2.8's, the MC W.Rokkor is the one to own imo as it was the first to get the improved optical design that the later MD's have but still retains the more robust, solid build quality of the earlier Minolta's.

Can't remember if I already posted this, but my latest is an excellent 135/3.4 APO Telyt.
Now I'm looking for a 75/2.5 Leica to fill the gap between the Telyt and my 40/1.4 Voigtlander. Also a 180/3.4 Telyt of more recent vintage is on my list of lenses for this year as well.

tomo i will pick up a canon 55mm 1.2 aspherical.
it will cannibalize my minolta 58mm 1.2.
for sure, i cant afford both. will be a hard decision.
and i will always think on the one that did lose ...

Olympus OM Zuiko 24/2.0 MC silver nose.It has the same optical construction and coatings than my latest "Japan" version.Very nice, fast wa lens. It's good to have two of those anyways.I'll post some pictures later on.
Olympus F Zuiko 85/2.0 silver nose. The first 6/4 lens. Now I have all 3 iterations of that lens,i.e "Japan",MC and the silver nose.Compared to the newer MC and "Japan" that have a little different optical construction i.e.5/4,,it shows more veiling wide open, but sharpness is still there,so it isn't soft in fact.
And lastly - an outstanding lens I came across today and hope to get soon - the Pentax A 85/1.4 "green star"At f1.4 it is sharper with little to no fringing on the A7/R - better that the ZF Planar 85/1.4,latest 85/1.4 C/Y Planar MM and Canon FD SSC Aspherical 85/1.2 that I have. There was no time for extensive testing, but for sure that's the 85mm to get.I will work on my friendly supplier to sell it aqap.

Canon FD 20-35/3.5L, which I probably didn't need since I have the EF17-40L, but figured why not and picked it up anyway. Nice lens...crisp, sharp, good colors...just what you'd expect from an L lens. Corners seem to hold up well, even at 20mm. Sample pics of potted yucca in the back yard:

Not so alt, but I finally picked up the FE 16-35/4. I rented it twice last year (once to review, once for my trip to NY), and I realized that around 30% of my favorite photos from last year were taken in those two weeks. Great lens.

Well, not a lens, but I have 2 of the Leica M back to back rear lens caps and a Leica M body cap coming so that I can pack and travel with at least some of my M mount lenses in a smaller space:
This will go with my similar Leica R back to back lens caps that I use for my Leica R !.4X Apo Extender, Leica R 2 X Apo Extender and my Leica R Macro adapter R. I use a second of these to attach 2 smaller R lenses together if they are not mounted on my Leica R to NEX adapter.

What situations does the bokeh get bad on the Mino 85 f2 Derek? And is it sharp WO? I almost purchased that lens, twice.
Also, nice PDX stuff--used to live NE.
I should say, I thought it was well spec'ed and sized for my liking, but I ended up with the 85 f2 Contarex and never got around to trying it.
the rokkor 85/2 can have bright ring bokeh at certain distances, haven't gotten a good handle on when it'll be a problem yet (the snow shot above was really the only chance i've had for outdoor portraits so far). it also only has six aperture blades, which gives obnoxious hexagons at f/2.8 or smaller. at any rate, not near as smooth as the rokinon 85/1.4. for portraits i think the contarex is better because it has more glow and the classic sonnar bokeh (a little funky but more predictable) and can be stopped down further before the ninja stars become objectionable.
i love the size and ergonomics of the lens. there is surprisingly little size difference between it and the contarex or the contax g, but the rokkor is lighter and has a better focus throw for shooting quickly. here's the three next to each other: http://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1613/24263897035_24d37f6ddb_o.jpg
it is impressively sharp wide open over most of the frame at near and far distances. definitely better than the contarex for landscape and competitive with the g90.

The CY Distagon 28/2.8. All it took was a glance in the wrong thread. Sigh. I mean, I do have a need for it, having nothing wider than 35 for my Sony A7, but... it just blind-sided me. Time will tell if my next order is for a Novoflex adapter.

Sorry, not what I experianced in the Netherlands. More then once I got problems. During Repair they damaged my 56mm. Did not told me just send it back. After complain I recieved an appoligy and new lens. Same with the X T1. Most lenses had dust problems 18, 27, 56, 10-24, 16-55. Communication about this was slow same as the cleaning. Some where remplaced by New ones... Repair of the 50-140 was also no fun. Defect AF. So for me happy with my switch to Sony...

Once you get to deal with Sony service, you'll understand... best of luck!
