Pulled the trigger on the Novoflex A Stat Nex as well as the Novoflex LER adapter for my Sony. Expensive ancillaries but sensible considering my current lens collection.

Not a lens exactly, but it's fun shooting with a camera that's older than I am (and in better condition as well)...my 'new' Leica IIIc

According to the serial number it was made in 1949. Other than a couple of minor scuffs on the top plate it looks like new. Everything works like it was made yesterday....this camera will outlast me. What's a bit sad is the guy I bought it from (a local Leica tech) had several and he says he's having a difficult time selling them...no one seems that interested in screw mount bodies.

Bought a Pentax SMC 135mm f/2.5 to go on a Leica M 240 and a Voigtlander 28mm for Nikon. Very impressed with both lenses.

Picked up a Contax Planar 50/1.7 to go with my Distagon 28/2.8. Looks like it's in great cosmetic and functional condition. Now I just need some time to play with it.

Picked up a nice little Kaligar 135/3.5 preset in M42 for $16 and is sharp enough wide open.

Minolta MD 24/2.8 "plain".I used to have one in the NEX5 times, but didn't like it and finally sold it.Maybe this copy will do better on the A7.The tendency to choose smaller lenses like the MD 24/2.8 or 85/2.0 versus bigger and heavier like 24/2.8 /85/1.7 Rokkors is growing in me,sometimes at cost of lower IQ.

BTW:I forgot to add that this is my 50'th Minolta Rokkor/MD lens.

Peire, you are a maniac!

In other news, I reported a while back about the lux 1.4/80. Used it for the first time last night at an Xmas party. Out of 40ish shots about a dozen were keepers. I shot at around f1.8 and 1000ISO in incandescent light but from what I can tell so far, this lens is a keeper. The OOF areas are just super lovely. With the A7 focusing was slightly tricky but not as troublesome as I'd been led to believe. I think animal/cat pics are better taken at a smaller apertures but faces were rendered very soft yet crisp enough at f1.8 (with lovely transitions to OOF areas), despite the astigmatism. However, I suspect f2.2 might be my eventual preferred portrait aperture. I think I prefer this lens to the 2/90 R. Sorry for the creepy third pic. It's a collection of ventriloquist dummies :/

Old Russian 35mm slide projector lens, Triplet 78/2.8
Shipping cost as much as the lens.
Shrug, I want to take it apart, swap the front element to the back, removing the other elements, and maybe reverse the front element also?
This is to make a cheap meniscus soft focus lens, hopefully...

My second Rokkor 58/1.2 arrived. It is definitely sharper with less glow than copy #1. *Sigh*, the joys of variability. In my business we say there are no great wines, only great bottles, with the same reference to copy (or bottle) variation. I'll keep the Nikkor 50/1.2 (sharpest at f/2 of all the 50s I've tried) and the latest Rokkor.

Picked up the Samyang 50mm t1.5. So far it reminds me of the 50 lux-m asph in terms of rendering, it's also lighter than I thought it would be at about 480g without caps, the focus ring feels more dampened than than the 85mm which is nicer for accurate focusing. Also the the low vignetting is an interesting change. All wide open:

Unexpectedly, just like the Spanish Inquisition, this copy of "plain" Minolta MD 24/2.8 seems to be a very good lens on the A7.Compared to older 9/7,24/2.8 Rokkors it's sharpness in general is more even across the frame,(being slightly softer in the center and sharper in the corners, esp. at f2.8 and f4).Colours are warm and state of the art Minolta-like.Older 24/2.8 Rokkors however have one advantage important to me - their rendering is crisper.Still vivid and warm, yet a tad cooler. And less CA at f8-11.

Finally, after 6 weeks of messing around,my C/Y Sonnar 100/3.5 is back from blacksmith.Slightly battered, scratched and drilled through twice front, but clean, operating smoothly and no wobbling at all.
Lesson learned resulted in the new version of the 11'th commandment:"Thou shalt not buy lenses on the Italian e-bay"

The Rokkor 85/2.0 arrived today and is intact and beautiful.IQ - excellent,(?Thou shalt buy on German ebay?)
