Not a lens, but after seeing the difference my Alpha converted and chipped lenses make with the a7II's SteadyShot versus manually entering the focal length, I just sprang for chips and mounts for the Elmarit-R 35, MR 500/8, and my C/Y trio (35, 85, and 135/2.8).

I've been reviewing the A7II and 16-35 this week and have loved it. Both the camera and lens are quite awesome. I almost convinced myself to buy an A7II...(and I might eventually when the price drops a bit), but what shooting with that combo made me do is: Buy the Fuji 10-24. I've had the 14/2.8 for a while (and it's an awesome lens), but shooting with the 16-34 has made me realize how much I've missed a UWA zoom for landscape use...it just makes shooting more enjoyable than swapping primes all the time. So I picked up the 10-24 today and my 14 will go up for sale.
B&H still had it discounted for $799, and I went to Midwest Photo today, and they couldn't match price directly (they'd take a big loss), but they matched when I got a 72mm polarizer with it (and discounted that too to B&H price) to allow them to break even. I needed to buy one anyway, so I got a great deal and got to buy local.

Between gift cards and eBay bucks, I was able to pick up a Loxia 50 from Popflash that should be here tomorrow. (They have a 35 up right now with free priority shipping, if anyone's interested)
I suspect that having the Planar for landscapes and panos and Summicron-M for people won't be a bad deal at all.

I'm very tempted by the Zeiss 135mm APO for my A7R, currently toying with the idea of replacing my Contax 100mm f2 AEG with it. Someone talk me out of it please, its financially ridiculous to spend so much on a focal length I barely use. But I'm convincing myself that I would use it if I got it...

I seem to be having my worst case of GAS ever. In the past 3 weeks, I sold:
A7r,
Zeiss 100MP ZE,
Distagon 35/2,
Distagon 21/2.8,
Rokkor 58/1.2 and
my entire Fuji X system.
However, I bought:
Sony A7II,
FE16-35,
FE70-200,
Loxia 35/2,
ZM 50/2 Planar,
Minolta 40/2 CLE,
Voigtlander VM-E adapter and finally a
Sony A6000 (On it's way)
Still considering a CV Nokton 50/1.5
Someone please find me a cure!
I'll leave you with one image (sorry, it's an iPhone image)

get the cheaper sony alpha zeiss 135/1.8 instead? ridiculously good and better rendering for portraits imho.
i'm always tempted by both these lenses but then i remember that i hate the 135mm focal length...

Thanks Sebboh. I think I might hate the focal length too, at least I find it hard to see examples where it adds to photos instead of detracts. It's certainly not the easiest to utilise by the looks of what I've seen

christmas gift arrived last night – rokkor 500/8 reflex lens: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8572/16250979512_3a96cb8dd3_o.jpg
played with it a little today and it is shockingly sharp and contrasty for a mirror lens. i think it'll function just fine as my compact birding lens and it seems up to landscape as well.

Should be a fun lens sebboh, when do you get your A7II?
I find it odd when someone says they hate a focal length, I think it's more that they haven't had much success with it, possibly because they have not used it enough to "see" with it yet.
I can see that someone will prefer a FL over another, as I prefer wides over other FL's.

Yashica AF 60/2.8 1:1 Macro,Yashica AF 50/1.8,Yashica AF 28/2.8,Yashica AF 28-85/3.5-4.5,Fotodiox adapter Yashica AF to Sony Alpha with aperture control.I managed to find on the net that 60/2.8 macro does very good on the A7.The 50/1.8 and 28/2.8 primes should also be good.28-85's performance is a question mark.
Nikonos V+Nikkors 28/3.5 and 80/4.Adapter not yet ordered.

Not yet.Still to little exhibits.Meanwhile I bought for 14Euro Yashica AF 70-210/4.5 and another AF 28-85/3.5-4.5,because there was not an option to buy the 70-210 separately. Before the museum is open you'll probably see some Yashica AF samples on the A7/R/S/II thread as soon as my adapter arrives.

it's actually more that i don't like other peoples pictures with the focal length than not having success with it. i feel the same way about ultra wide angle shots. 90% of the shots i see taken with a 135mm lens i think would be improved if the photographer had used a shorter lens. it's a good length for macro and landscapes imo, but i think it's terrible for portraits unless you're trying to get a full body shot with lots of blur. lots of people love it for tight portraits though.

When I got this lens,I was upset by it's poor performance on my NEXes,but fortunately with the A7 it's a different story.
interesting, i haven't tried it on my NEX yet. it seems amazingly good for a mirror lens on FF so far. better than most 300/4.5 lenses from film days in fact.
