My latest acquisition arrived. Unfortunately, I probably need to wait another week or so before the Leitax mount for it arrives. There was some kind of delay, and it won't be shipped until Monday. This will plug a gap in my 21/50MP/100MP line which I don't often use, but need to have filled just the same.
100MP for size comparion. The Contax 80-200/4 looks large when seen on its own, but isn't really.

I don't know if this counts as an alt, but I don't know where else to stuff this photo, so here it is. It is a Hudora Big Wheel OC 205. I don't know what OC means. Over-clocked?
Having a small daughter and a full-time job, I have very little time for photography, so I have to do everything I can to squeeze the maximum time out of nothing, like getting blood from a stone. Since some of the places I like to go are inaccessible by car and take some time to walk to, and since I can't really focus well on photography when I am bicycling, I picked this up. With this, I can get somewhere along a paved or firm dirt path about twice as fast as on foot, and if I am carrying my tripod, I can just put the strap on the scooter when I get to my destination, and carry it over my shoulder. It could use a bit of suspension over bumpy stretches (like the sidewalks of Berlin ), but I'll survive. Now I just need to use both legs equally, so I don't end up with one big and one small leg

I was just bidding on a ZF.2 35/2 which I really didn't want to have to buy at this time, and got outbid in the last seconds. The successful bid was 506 Euro, which is a truly fantastic price. I am almost kicking myself that I didn't bid a little more.

New purchase: Mamiya M645 Teleconverter 2x N http://praetoriusphoto.images.s3.amazonaws.com/fmforums/20110428_m645_tc.jpg
I bought it just so I could try some really abusive teleconverter stacking on my 200/2.8 APO
Test shot, full frame, 200mm/f2.8 @ f4 + Mamiya 2x + Canon 2x II + Canon 1.4x II = 1120mm/f22

Just saw this. That is truly nuts!
The setup is also nuts to stabilize. The M200/2.8 doesn't have a lens foot on the lens, so the entire assembly was dangling off the end of the camera mount. I had a Gitzo 5-series with Wimberly gimbal under the camera, but I may as well have been using a bowl of under-cooked jello. Stuffing some socks between the teleconverter and a rail underneath, along with resting my arm over the assembly, helped a bit; I suppose one of the "long lens support" rail systems would help here. The image was noticeably jittery in the viewfinder, and no fun to focus either. I guess there's a reason that people pay for real long lenses instead of just stacking teleconverters ad-infinitum

I am sure there is more than one reason And that is a great sentence: "I had a Gitzo 5-series with Wimberly gimbal under the camera, but I may as well have been using a bowl of under-cooked jello."
Try the setup on a Sony A900 with its built-in stabilizer. I would love to see the data going through that thing's brain at capture time.

it just needs one number: 1120mm. no need for complex calculation, one simple multiplication is all an IBIS system needs.

Tomorrow I'll buy a new "mother" for my alternative lenses.
Finally I'll jump from Canon EOS 5D to 5D Mark II.
IDURITA, Congrats!! Wait until you see what your OM Zuikos do with all those extra pixels! The resolving power of some of the OM Zuikos is truly amazing.

Is that a first-gereration R28 or the one with the new optical formula? If it's the new one, P.M. me if you don't buy it, and I will. It's a fantastic lens.

The desirable last version uses an E55 filter and has that written on the front of the lens. It almost always has a built in/ slide out lens hood which is not removable. The tell tell sign though is the E55 on the front.
