Good grief... do you need oven mitts to hold it?
No, everything is completely OK and legit. I got the original bill with it (with the sellers name on it). And I can easily find all the data of the seller on the internet (own website, flickr, facebook, etc.). And I met him personally.
So I can keep it with my bare hands.
But I am always surprised how easily people buy expensive stuff and than sell it short time after with a huge loss.
In the case of the Otus it was always quite clear to me that a loss of at least 40% is to be expected when trying to sell it secondhand. So I am not surprised with this price. It just doesn't sell for much more. At least where I live.

Glad to hear it. Handling lenses with oven mitts is a pain...
I'm surprised about your expectations for a used price. I was offered $4500 several months after I had mine. Possibly because it was likely the only Canon mount Otus in Canada at that point.

After asking you guys repeatedly about which macro lens to get, decided on the Leica R 60. Found one here on the B&S and decided to keep the purchase in house and help out the community. Got it with the extender as well, have to get used to how close it will allow me to focus. Slapped on a Metabones Leica R to E mount adapter and I'm set. The adapter is a little tight fit on the body but hopefully it'll loosen up a little bit after use. Looking forward to my very first Leica lens and my first real hand at macro photography, very excited. Hope I don't get too hooked on Leica R glass....Show more →
I also picked up an R60 with the extender, box, and bubble, works great on the A7r, also picked up an Elmarit R 135 in well used condition.

The silver one works just as well.
It does but I bought/sold it twice over. Need something different to buy and hopefully not sell.
I think as silly as it is, the color will have me keep it. The first time I sold it to fund another purchase, the 2nd time it was because I tried too hard to make it my only camera. Using it in conjunction with my a7 and after reading up on some long exposure possibilities with the Lee filters has me wanting to get it again.

Traded my Konica 85/1.8 and 50/1.7 for this: Leitz Summicron-R 50 mm f/2 by scepticswe, on Flickr
The Konicas were just gathering dust and I've always wanted to see what the fuss about the Red Dot was all about...
Also, a trip to the local charity shop and parting with 7 USD of my hard earned cash gave me this: Tokina 28mm f/2.8 by scepticswe, on Flickr

Picked up the rest of the Sigma trinity for e-mount. Have an A6000 coming tomorrow. Should make for a good base E-mount kit for reviews and casual shooting. I have to say, the 30 and 60 in particular are exceptional. The 19 is pretty good too, but not quite to the level of the other two. Best bang for the buck in mirrorless right now. Sigma has really become a major player.
