I just picked up a Nikon Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AI to go along with the 28mm f2.8 AI-s I got a month or so ago. Have to test it side by side, but I think I like it better than the FDn 24mm f/2.8 I have.
Also picked up a Minolta MD 35-70 f/3.5 Macro to use as a walk around lens. Seems pretty amazing, just losing sharpness in the very deep corners.

This is because they are rare ;-).
Why would Olympus put the "MC" marking on it?
This is the case with my 200/5. I'm 100% sure it is multicoated as it has that typical green-violet reflection as seen on most other modern multicoated lenses. There are some reports online about it being only sold in Japan and in very limited quantities (2000pcs) before it was discontinued.
I'm a bit less sure about the 135/3.5 - it has violet+orange reflections. I also have an earlier SC version which I lent out to a friend but will compare how they behave when I have both back with me. I think I remember it having a blueish coating.

Just a follow-up to my post on the Tamron sp90 (p. 172) and flare...I took it out the other day and in bright light, kept to the side, there was no problem...though here in this shot here the sun was cloud covered.

Sold all my beloved Canon gear and purchased 4 new things (camera, lense, sd card and lense cap). Feels great to start completely over! Always many thanks to the wonderful people of FM.alt making the buying decisions easier for me!
