Small spending spree is right LightShow and I thought I was bad.
Well, the Zeiss ZE 100/2MP has been put to a small test over the weekend and a wet weekend at that. Boy, I thought the ZE 21/2.8 impressed me. The ZE 100/2 MP is unbelieveably sharp and it sure does have that Zeiss "pop". I'm very ecstatic.
I'm unsure what's next after this combo. The ZE 21/2.8 and ZE 100/2 MP are hard acts to follow. Any suggestions from te Zeiss specialists?
The question of which 50 to get is a tough one. I also love the 21 and 100MP, and got the 50MP as a logical next, but I was very disappointed with it, with the weak extreme corners wide open and the missing Zeiss look, IMO. Others love it. I later got the 50P and love it to death. It has a lot of optical flaws, but a bucket full of look.
You can also skip that whole issue, and just get the 35/1.4 (or the 35/2) instead

I've read the same discussions about the 50MP and how it doesn't have the Zeiss look. I've heard great comments about the 35/2 and looked at a lot of images shot with this lens. Right now, I'm leaning more towards the ZE 35/2 as the next Zeiss. The saga continues.....

The 50MP does have the sharpness (except extreme corners wide open) and the micro-contrast, and it has very little CA, but the boke is very different, a bit nervous without the creaminess of the 100MP.
The 35/2 is in some ways not quite up to the 35/1.4 (boke quality, sharpness), but it is still a very sharp lens with interesting boke, and it has one thing more than any other ZF/ZE lens: 3D.

Wow, that S85 is special: AEG which means metal aperture ring w/engraved markings. That piece forever became plastic w/silk-screened markings when it transitioned to AEJ. I have a NIB MMG (final version), but your version is on my to-buy list. Gear lust is a sad sight.

Thanks for the info.
I'll have to confess I'm a bit behind the curve with C/Y lenses as I mostly shoot with EF, FD and OM on 35mm; my Yashica rarely gets out to play.
I'm in the middle of deciding whether to sell up my EF L zooms and buy a Sony A7. I might pick up a C/Y adapter to try them out on the 5D in the meantime.

You will not be disappointed! I can only speak for the 50/1.7 but no doubt the 85 is also excellent. Your OP has caused quite a few attacks of envy!
My own latest purchase is a Pentax 645 45/2.8 (not for 10 quid)!

The Zeiss Distagon 28/2.8 and Sonnar 100/3.5 are relatively inexpensive, and absolutely excellent. Check Lens$db for 'normal' Contax Zeiss used lens prices.

Lenticular, Glad to hear it is a good performer, thanks for the reply. I have quite a few FD lenses from years past, but do not know much about the TS. When I was shooting EOS cameras I always wanted to buy a T-S lens, somehow I just found other things to spend money on. I never thought to adapt a FD TS lens to an EOS. Now that I have shifted to Fuji, I have different priorities & the TS lens was one of them.
Here she is in all her glory, even came with a hood! as well as a case, manual & tripod spacer
