I was debating buying the zeiss 18 but I need to research more on the wa and make sure the system is right before I go nuts! Sounds like you have a great kit with which you are very happy. Nex fever seems to be sweeping so I had to try. The shots in this thread speak volumes.
5n body just arrived w/55-210 (B&H has 100 off, so I said jeez how can I loose?)
Weight
5n 263 g w/ battery
5 288 g w/battery
5n build is more plasticy than 5. Not that I care.
Menus: jez you guys never mentioned all these new options..yow!
Does this mean I have to read the friggin manual? OMG
PS 55210 is fun. AF seems fine. ISO3200--what the heh? Where's the noise?
There is a rumor now that SLR primes may be sharper on 5 than 5n. Douglas' thread at DP had a guy claiming this. I will see in the next few days, since my 5 has not sold yet @ 300USD.
I can confirm what others have reported: no issues with the ZM 18 on my 5n. And it is one good piece of glass! I will know exactly how good over the week-end, but chimping is very impressive. It is also easy to use, as it has so much DOF that focusing is not required.
Uhoh, that rumor may well be due to the fact that, when a system has more resolution, transitions are less "binary", more gradual. Some people think that this brusque transition of lesser-revolving systems is actually sharpness. It isn't. My 5N is way sharper than my 5 was. Enjoy your 5N and don't worry!

I think the theory is that the sensor is now optimised for short register glass. This is pretty fun. I'm not so much worried as curious.
I think we need a thread for sharing the impressions of the old guard moving from 5 to 5n.
10FPS--I nearly dropped it!
And its way quieter, thank God.
How about all these new lens detection options? Where do we want those?
The manual (on the CD) is much better than the little printed one that comes with the camera. And once you've figured out how to set the buttons the way you want it shooting gets a little quicker. Leaving Sunday for Malaysia, NZ and Ausie land and I can get the entire kit in one hand, camera, battery charger and 80 gigs of SD cards, amazing.
Uhoh, over the week-end I shall post pics with my Leica R 60 Makro. That qualifies as DSLR glass IMHO. Let me know if you find the sharpness wanting. Incidentally, Snowboarder uses nothing but DSLR glass. Try telling him his pictures lack sharpness...
What's the consensus on ordering the evf. Supply constraints are already a concern and I'm thinking if I don't buy grey market I'll end up having to wait ages.
Thanks all. Sorry for all the questions and no images!

Unnecessary if you ask me - I am sending mine back to B&H tomorrow. Be on the lookout for +1 on their inventory on their website.
