I did a shootout today with a bunch of stuff. So far all i have really looked at is the sel55210, which some people are claiming is superior to all MF glass I started at around 180, and used the nikkor for comparison. It's not all that bad, but well for some entertainment see:
My strange image of the day - "Wave" by Santiago Calatrava. 5N with Contax G 45. All I did in post was to raise the black level a bit, and sharpen a small amount. I do, very much, like this lens!
We don't get as much fall color here as in the north, but there is a bit in my back yard. Also taken with the 45G. Rather heavily cropped - this is about 1/3 of the original image.

to see the 180 crops go to page 4, up till then its the usual heavy posing over there.
I'm only a few posts in and that thread has me rolling. I'm not saying the results with nex glass are bad...but I wouldn't have bought one just seeing those results.

How about an update with them on the 5N? I'm still pondering over the 21, if it's similar to the 35 on the 5N I'm going to get it.
Hi Jacob
here are classic CS conditions for the 21 on 5n http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6240/6338141214_5e86aba6e4_b.jpg
as you can see by comparing to fence post image above there is a huge difference--with a trace remaining and some vignetting. full size
now, what was the sky really like? http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6043/6337426815_4145ee2230_z.jpg
that's the nFD 24/2, which we must asume has no colorshift. To my eye--philber please chime in or anyone-- what we are seeing is vignetting---CS is extremely subdued. Even the M9 does this.
the rez on the 5n is impressive, but it does soften a tad on the edges. Perhaps better than the n5
also interesting is that this lens at f/8 is not sharp across the frame---in fact the CVs are better in this respect. As you guys know this is a very famous lens--see bjorns reviews. Seems to be the case on both 5 and 5n
