do i spy a 6mm 2.8 fish in the gear shot? that's something serious there, last one i saw was 40k. add in a 1200-1700mm F/5.6-8.0 and you have the best AI-S collection out there, well focused on the raptors in flight, IME with BIF's on a 400mm 3.5 Ai-S it's a PITA.
Thanks for taking the time to commen Jammy And XR. Yes pretty good insurence, the problem is where do find anther 300 2.0 IF ED AIS to replace this one. Im going to be really carefull on te ice this winter as I had couple of close calls last year. In fact at one point I slipped lamndoing flat on my back while holding the lens and D3. Dont worry the lens and camera are fine.
great shots, glad to hear you use it most days! another member has one of these cant rember his name but he's also got the 58 1.2 nockt... not sure which i'd prefere...
Um, not sure if you'd prefer a 58 1.2, or a 300 f2? Not exactly a tough call imho. Although I suppose you'd have to start taking some hard core steroids if you planned to hand hold the 300mm often.
Thanks for the kind words. The member would'tn be Peter would it. If so I think He sold his 300 2.0
and now shoots with the Leica M9 and the 21 1.4 ASAP. Iv seen his work on the Leica forum or maybe it wa the the rangefinder forum... Anyways i dont steroids but I like to stay in shape. Still handholding the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED AIS is beast of burden. If your looking for a light weight street rig there are probablly better choices.
With the TC14c teleconverter attached it becomes a super fast 420 2.8 IF-ED AIS. The seperation shapness and the compression rivials the Nikkor 400 2.8 IF ED I used to own. ( Lecia bug)
Photos of me taken by Kat, Thanks a lot Kat. Miss you girl.
Thanks Sun Black. Sorry for not respnding sooner. Iv had some personal issues to attend to . Stars you say. Hmm If' it's clear I try some this week end.
Very nice pictures and a great collection of lenses. Thanks for putting up all the images you have lately; it's nice to see a group of images and know for sure which lenses they were taken with.
Wow, that is one ludicrous piece of glass. Awesome stuff though
I hope your wrist improves, but if it doesn't -- I might know someone that has a Sigma 50-500 that would be willing, maybe, to trade you. He'd even pay shipping

Nope, that's the 8mm f2.8. Although the whole group is still giving me a stiffy. Schwing!
I show you all these beautiful pictures and want to see are the corners and coma?.
Im just kidding no problem Sun Black. Iv heard reports that the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED is had a least one aspherical element. I tend to agree as the matched converter that came with the 300 2.0 the TC 14c that uses the same glass as the Nikkor 300 2.0 is differnt shape than TC 14b. And the preformance is outstanding with the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED AIS as well as many other Nikkor's.
The lens used with TC 14 C include the Nikkor 105 4 AIS , 200 4 micro AIS, Nikkor 45 2.8 ED Tilt and shift , 200 2.0 IF-ED AIS, 400 2.8 IF-ED AIS, 600 4.0 IF-ED AIS , as well as my made is 1936 Carl Zeiss 180 2.8 Olympic Sonnar.
