Releasing the 70-300 as an L lens further represents the possibility of the EF non-L line being phased out. I wonder if the non-L will be discontinued...
Yeah, there goes the retail on my 400 2.8 IS...maybe. How does that compare the Nikon's version price wise? The lens looks very different on the outside...who knows. I can buy a decent car for that.

Well except that the current ones will still stay available and there will be people who will upgrade which will drive the used prices down a little farther, at least in the long run.
