Gotta say...I'm pretty surprised.
70-300 f/4-5.6 IS L
8-15 f/4 FE
300 f/2.8 IS II and 400/2.8 IS II
500 f/4 IS II and 600/4 IS II
1.4x TC III and 2x TC III

Releasing the 70-300 as an L lens further represents the possibility of the EF non-L line being phased out. I wonder if the non-L will be discontinued...

Well, its too early to contemplate buying expensive lenses. I only started recently.

Yeah, there goes the retail on my 400 2.8 IS...maybe. How does that compare the Nikon's version price wise? The lens looks very different on the outside...who knows. I can buy a decent car for that.

The Extender EF 1.4x III and Extender EF 2x III are to ship in December 2010 at an expected street price of US$500 in the U.S.

The EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II is to ship in December 2010 at an expected street price of US$11,000 in the U.S.

The EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II is to ship in December 2010 at an expected street price of of US$7000 in the U.S.

The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS is to ship at the end of October 2010 at an expected street price of US$1500 in the U.S.

The EF 8-15mm f/4L is to ship in January 2011 at an expected street price of US$1400 in the U.S

We've got lenses Nikon doesn't, and prices to match!

Surprisingly the fishy doesn't seem as high a price in comparison.

Well except that the current ones will still stay available and there will be people who will upgrade which will drive the used prices down a little farther, at least in the long run.
