This will be a REAL test of Rafael's commitment to manual focus Nikon lenses... Of course, it will also be a test of how robust his bank account is after the stock market contraction... as well as whether he's still getting those big checks from Raytheon...
Those of you who've been around for a long time will recall when an active member of this thread, Gregory Rogalsky from Calvary, Canada decided that he HAD to begin shooting video. Because Canon was well ahead of the field at the time, he chose to sell most of his extensive kit of Nikon MF glass, INCLUDING his copy of the 300 f/2 that he kept showing us in photos of himself hand-holding the lens. Not many of these were made... fewer than 500. Honestly, I recall seeing prices higher than this in the past... so this MAY be a real deal! Roberts Camera is a reputable outfit who know the market. Have at it Rafael.
With the recent talk of the Leighton Lens and non-alcohol beer from Curtis, I figured I would try this zero alcohol brew while grilling tonight. Shot with the Leighton Lens and Curtis' brand of choice Lagunitas or as is on the bottle "lah-goo-KNEE-tus"
Almost completely clear in color and I have never had one. Will see later.

Is it everything Curtis raves about?
Haven't popped the top yet. Still chilling. Only have a 4 pack so going slow with it. I don't see me going back to Raleigh anytime soon to the place that sells them
I've never had Hoppy Refresher so I make no claims for its excellence or lack thereof. But I can without hesitation celebrate both their limited and unlimited releases. I've told the story before. They started in a garage in a valley about ten miles from where I live but eventually the Marin health department told them to shut down because they were polluting the nearby stream. The ended up building a brewery in Petaluma about twenty miles north of here. Eventually they opened another brewery, in Chicago I believe. They were bought out by HEINEKIN Leighton so you KNOW they're good.
I definitely await your report George. I'll have to keep my eye out for it... though I expect this is a HI-priced brew that might be beyond my budget... especially if I'm able to get Clausthaler for $6.99 a six-pack.

And now on to bottle number 2 of O'Doul's... ...Show more →
Ok... First of all I have to agree with Leighton and Curtis about how bad O'Doul's is. I used to drink generic Navy beer in beer/ballgames and when I say generic, I am talking about a white can with bold black letters that says BEER on the can. Thats it. So I feel qualified to judge bad beer
Now on to the Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher. It is not beer ok. Looking further at the label reveals why it is such a clear color. Three ingredients: Hops, Yeast, Water. So if you are looking for that brown ale, amber or IPA taste this is not it.
However... With that expectation quickly out of the way by the second taste, it is a good, refreshing beverage. The hops are not as strong as an IPA and actually has a citrus taste. It would definitely be good on a hot summer afternoon and good with lighter food like grilled fish, vegetables, etc. Not really a good paring for hamburgers
It was hot here this afternoon hitting 89 degrees on my back deck. Barely enough for Reagan to get out of the house I know, but still warm for here this time of year.
So I will look forward to finishing off the rest of the 4 pack in the time to come.
Curtis, price here in NC is comparable to the Clausthaler. So not out of line.

I offered $10,000 and it was immediately declined!! "Sorry lensbug, robertscamera has turned down your offer of US $10,000.00. Make another offer before the item ends."
Roberts is where I bought my mint 18mm 4.0. It was listed for $530 and they declined all my offers until I reached $490. They probably won't sell it for less than $20K and that is more than I am willing to pay. Besides it does not have the TC-14C.
I may go $15K, maybe. I spend a lot of time looking for mint bargains and most of my rather common lenses are mint bargains. This one is not likely to be one. Maybe this thread should form a partnership to buy it and we send it around the world, How about that Partners??
Two panos with the Nippon Kogaku 13.5 F3.5
The first from the Zaanse Schans is a 9 image vertical stitch.
The second s from the other side of the river is a 6 image horizontal stitch.
Except for the mills not much difference.
BTW the JPG images on my iMac are much sharper (and crisp).
I stitch the images in Affinity, export to Tiff, process in DxO PL3 and export to JPG (80%).
This is 100%, but still not as sharp/crisp as the JPG version on my monitor.

My deepest apologies sir. I was thinking of your near beer of choice Clausthaler when I said that. I would have to go over the mountain to Charlottesville to get that, but of course that will have to wait for another time.
I would water your plants with what's left of the O'Douls!

Love the panos Chris!
Re: jpgs, same here. Always crisper on my MacBook Pro before they are uploaded here.
