Beautiful!

Storming here at the moment as well. Waiting to go out to do chores.

Got my outside items done this morning, now waiting to fire up the grill and have a cold one. May be a late one.

Right, turn the screws guys. I shall not be tempted! Well I must say that Nicca hood does complete the ensemble.

I found the focus peaking option in the menu. Now things turn blue randomly on the screen.

With focus peaking, not sure I have it down. I miss the green dot. And the poor cat has an ear in a twist trying to dodge the lenses and adapters being pointed at her today.

I recommend assigning function button Fn1 on the front of the body to 100% viewfinder zoom. Hit the button, your EVF goes to 100% zoom in, do your critical focus, hit the button again back to full screen and shoot. Makes manual focusing so much easier.

In Custom Setting Menu
f2 - Custom control assignment
Fn1 button
Zoom on/off to 1:1 (100%) - you can also select 50% or 200%, but I found 100% worked best for me

Samy, Leighton and George, ya’ll need to go out to Marin for a long weekend and get de-programmed by Curtis. No known cure but you need to try. BTW I just bought a 36-72 E series that Jose introduced us to. Maybe I’ll join you. 😂

What are you talking about Ken? Marin is the home of the devil himself At least the MFNG devil. Welcome to the 36-72 group that Jose just started. I am awaiting his tanager pic with that lens.

Ronny, you always find amazing scenes. Cool snow-dusted hill across the water.

However I don’t think he has bought anything recently and ya’ll need to learn from that. Resisting temptation is something we can all learn about. I bought the 36-72 for $24.00. So the meager amount of money we spend on old lenses, adaptors and such pales in comparison to buying modern AFS or new lenses for the Z. For that I am not only grateful bit happy !

Happy 4th everyone.

Andy – I continue to enjoy your photo essay through India. The family connection to Kirkee is really interesting.
Glen – superb sunsets.
Samy – great job with the 500 in difficult lighting conditions. Now a Z-man too!
George – wonderful crisp vistas. The clarity from a Z6 in your hands is fantastic.
Rony – superb pictures to bring a welcome ‘chill’ to a beautiful hot day in southern UK.
James – best wishes on your continued recovery
No cape Nikonman (a.k.a big foot Steve) – really digging the Alpine flora on top of the food fest and panoramas
Scott – lovely lupines
Lestor – an interesting parade indeed. Well captured.
Ken - family time, amazing scenery, camera in hand. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Doug – amazing scenery. Looking forward to your lens comparison review.
Kevin – best wishes on your recovery too.
Peter – that candid is fantastic.
Laura – I am envious of your backstage pass before the air-show
Kristian – endearing photo of your grandmother.

ND10 – everybody should have one of these in their kit bag. Agree that step down rings are the way to go.

Colin

Our next stop in India is Aurangabad, the nearest town to the Ellora and Ajanta Caves.
UNESCO World Heritage rock cut temples dating from 600 - 1000 BC

Whilst our American friends were celebrating Independence Day my wife and were being entertained with 7 hours of tennis at SW19. Lucked out on some really great seats on the Centre court at Wimbledon. Warm and sunny so Pimms had to be be consumed. We were impressed by Johanna Konta (British #1) but the real entertainment came when Rafa Nadal played 'bad'boy' Nick Kyrgios. Not much love between these two so the atmosphere was electric. Such a great day out.

This is a 6-7 shot pano taken in IR.

Hennman Hill is situated behind Wimbledon's #1 court. Although being a Scot I far prefer the name Murray Mound (given Andy Murray has won 3 slams to Tim Hennman's 0) The large screen and amphitheatre is a great place to soak up the atmosphere.

The AELTC allow vistors to bring in their own food and drink into the event so champagne corks were flying everywhere at mid-day!

In infrared the large screen appears black but a game from one of the outside courts was being broadcast. The last image was taken from under the screen looking towards the assembled crowd - that's the reason they are mostly looking up.

Colin, easy enough to get, they are usually addons at air shows, cost extra. If my friend hadn't gotten it for me, I wouldn't have gone to the air show at all, I'd have worked.

I tried to get a shot of the American Airlines DC-3 without people in it, but one of the sponsors was hogging the pre show time entirely. However, I did wind up getting inside it, too.

All these shot with the 28 f/2 AI-s
