Loving the banter about lenses, adaptors and cameras. I'm afraid Ken that once we opened the barn door there isn't much reason to lament the presence of all these exotic cameras. If anything has been clear about this thread, it is when people are shopping for gear the juices begin to flow and excitement is in the air. Bottom line, of course, is that we're ALWAYS shooting with Nikon lenses, so all is well with this world.
Congratulations Samy and happy shopping to the rest of the crew.
I have to say I was smiling at the talk about high temperatures and humidity. We've been have a glorious summer with temperatures in the mid to high seventies, occasionally a touch over 80 and, of course, low humidity. Having grown up in Minnesota I know the sort of summer you guys are mentioning and I don't miss them ONE BIT. But I could say the same thing about snow and cold as well. I'm spoiled...
So the conversation about lenses a few days ago prompted me to pull out an early pre-AI lens, the 5cm f/2 and took it for a spin. Amazing how wonderfully this old lens performs. Here are a few shots, the first taken in Berkeley and a couple taken in my backyard this afternoon...
I look at the light on these Confederate Jasmine vines all the time from my office, but never have much opportunity to shoot them. Had time following a nice rain this morning. Micro 55mm f/3.5, A7R.
Thanks for the likes and I have been enjoying the banter.
Here is a stitch from the Tracy Fjord Glacier which did not lend itself to a good frontal shot. Therefore the pano with the NOCT. Will have another tomorrow that's a bit more aggressive. I had to reduce the size of this shot to make the Miranda file size restriction.
Andy, very cool! I have never been to Ajanta or Ellora caves. Look forward to more pics from there.
Lestor nice work with the 85 1.4 at the procession!
Laura looks like your photoshoot in the Dakota got photo-bombed! The DC-3 exterior is always photogenic, looks like they have done up the interior too.
Eike nice flowers!
Reagan, post some more from Hilton Head. Another place I have never been to.
Can't just sit inside and take cat pics with the Z6 so I put on the 10.5cm f2.5 P that's in the worst condition of my 105s (I am sure KEH would be very quick to give it a "VERY UGLY" designation) and took in some scenes at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
