I'm having a semi dry January, not through choice but lack of opportunity here in India
Sorted out my phone now so I can use it to connect my laptop to the net.
We're currently in Kochi, leaving tomorrow just down the road to Aleppey for the Kerala backwater canals. So far our route has been Chennai (Madras) > Mahabalipuram > Puducherry > Madurai > Munnar > Kochi.
Lots to catch up, you can check my flickr if you can't wait for them to get posted.
Here's some from Chennai
Our hotel was a little way from the centre so we got a local train, 2nd Class, much like the Tube in London / subway in NY, you have to wait for people to get off and then try and get on in the ensuing crush ! but there is a woman's carriage so my wife got to sit and chat with lovely Indian women in their colourful saris.
They generally don't have people on top of the trains now but as you can see, there are no doors and as long as you can hang on you can get on the train!
Chat while waiting for the train. Despite all the colour, I'm also really loving B&W, brings out the detail without the eye being distracted by the crazy colours I think.

Some more wildlife to change things up.
Some times old glass still delivers... Nikon 500mm f/4P. All taken with TC 14b. I find that stopping down to f/8 improves things a little, but I can shoot wide open as well.
This one is called "Light a Wish".
According the artist:
"Make a wish before you blow the fluffy dandelion seeds into the air" - everyone knows this old game.
Light a Wish visualises the moment the seeds disperse in the air waiting to take your wish with them into the world

I see you're putting the Z6 to good use! I've been playing with it and my MF lenses today and I'm in love.
Focusing a portrait with the 50/1.2 on the iris? No problem! Takes shooting my beloved Nikkor gems to another level, and finally I can even use pre-AI glass (had the 5cm S-Auto lying in the cupboard unused-no more, and I'm looking at that 135mm f/3.5 QC Auto... ).
Fitting to shoot this "radiant" installation with a Thorium lens! Looks beautiful and reminds me Amsterdam is on my wish list of cities to visit.
Speaking of the 50mm f/1.2... I just realized it's been weeks since I said I'd post more pictures from my honeymoon in Scotland. Dang, time really flies. Anyway, here's two more photos from that beautiful part of the planet, both shot with the 50mm f/1.2 AI-S.
The first was our view from the pub in Easdale, where we had a fabulous dinner on a terrace at the seaside, the second is the view over the Highlands from one of the munros (mountains) surrounding Glencoe valley.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Markus
A pub with a view
Beautiful Highlands in typical Scottish weather :-)

So far I'm pretty happy with the MF abilities, much better as with my Df.
What I miss is the ability to change aperture with the ring on the lens, only with the front wheel on the Z6.

My lenses aren't chipped (yet), so I still do that. One minor thing I actually liked better with the D600 is that I find the dials on the Z6 a bit harder to turn, does that change over time? The ones on the D600 seem to be rubberized and have better "grip".

Oh my. Thank you for this story. My late uncle worked for Yamasa soy sauce company and lived in Choshi. I never took the train, as far as I can remember though. I am so glad to hear those small private lines are surviving. I am certain, famous one, like Enoden is still fine. Private train network in Tokyo is really integral part of the city scape in Japan. One little notstalgia.
Love this shot !

Wow, what a coincidence. My friend's family home is in Kamakazu, ~30 mins away from Choshi, so we spent quite a fair bit of time in the area. His classmate works for Yamasa too iirc. I'm now a convert!
When we weren't in Kamakazu, we'd be in my friend's house itself, which was just off Enoshima. And yeah, the Enoden's famous, no less from the association with that 90's manga/anime hit, Slam Dunk. We took a ride when the school bells had rung; barely breathing room in all the carriages. I'm not sure if I have any photos from that. I had arranged to take both lines because Raylan's a train afficionado... but he slept on both rides!
