I wouldn't call participating in dry January a celebration.
Friday evening here and all this chatter about drinking is putting thoughts into my head.
Resist, resist.
The old 300/2.8 AI-S really rocks. It works very well with my modified TC-17EII: I get a 510mm f/4.8 from this combo and it still is pretty sharp wide open. I also use, from time to time, the TC-14a and TC-200 with this prime.
D800, AI-S 300mm f/2.8N IF-ED+TC-17EII, hand held from a small boat.

At the Rembrandt Square there're the sculptures of the Night Watch. As part of the celebration of Rembrandt's 400th birthday in 2006, a bronze-cast representation of his most famous painting, The Night Watch.
Some times old glass still delivers... Nikon 500mm f/4P. All taken with TC 14b. I find that stopping down to f/8 improves things a little, but I can shoot wide open as well.
In keeping with that theme, I too will make my first submission here with a 50 e. Picked up the lens last week and its my first MF normal lens. Seemed like a great opportunity to live with an MF lens for awhile and see if it's for me without spending much. Conclusion; It is.
Snapshot from the yard yesterday, taken with the F100 and T-MAX 100.
