A statue of Dr Michel Gabriel Paccard, a Chamonix doctor, who was the first man to summit Mont Blanc in 1786 with a chamois hunter, Jaques Balmat. There was a reward for the feat and Balmat claimed to have been the first to climb the mountain. Despite his attesting (much later) to the facts, Paccard's feat was ignored until 1986 when this statue was erected.
Few days old now, but really like that nighttime shot through the trees Scott. The starts and planets showing through the thin clouds are special. And shooting MF from behind the wheel? Tell me it's not so.....
Enjoyed the balloon, and rim lighting that gave to the spectators, Laura.
Great series from Provence, Phillipe. That third pic reminded me of some of the residents of the hill towns I visited that ambled up the streets effortlessly, while I tried to look cool keeping up with them without revealing any sort of physical stress :-)
First whimsical arch is well seen and processed, Ken.
Made me look up trompe l'oeil, Peter. Fascinating, never knew the name for that style of art.
I photographed a rose with both my Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 and Nikkor-H.C 28mm f/3.5 on a M2 extension ring... The 28mm is great fun for macro wide open. Very dreamy.
I just received an email that my Z6 has been packed and will be delivered in up to three working days. I feel very nervous
Because I do not think I'll use much in the near time my beloved D750, I want to share a few pictures from a wedding where I was recently as a guest and I played a bit as non-intrusive as possible with my Nocton.

Excited to see some Z's on the thread. I have just bought a more modest mirrorless body,an XT-1 as a 2nd body / back up to my D800 for my India trip.
You may recall that I bought one previously and enjoyed many of its features but didnt like others but decided to give it another go and what better than 4 months in India and HK.
Let's see which body gets the most use !

The one that will do the carrying and walking is my bet
Still no camera, but knife making is taking on momentum now. I have 7 knife projects on the bench at this moment, and once I have the next knife ready, I will have conversations with potential customers for another 3-4 knives.
That should get me in the range of buying a used D800 sooner rather then later I hope.
One thing about being without a camera for a while is that I am more sensitive to the beauty directly surrounding me. I see potential photographs lurking everywhere, see the light and am able to capitalize on these when I do have a camera for a few minutes.
On quite another note, after my rather unfortunate medical diagnosis, I now lost our appartment. We need to look for another place to stay as soon as possible. Other big changes are around the corner as well. Will lift the veil on that as soon as I know more about the direction this will take.
Most important issue however is that Anouk and Kristina are healthy and happy.

My local dealer said the body only and body only/FTZ bundle (with the $100 discount) will not be released until later in the month. They received Body/24-70 kits.
