These were taken with the Fuji X-E1 and Nikkor 105/2.5 AIs out of the car window. We circled back for hopefully better photos but these guys had left the building.

So, nobody on this thread has succumbed to the call of the Z yet? I figured someone would have given in by now

what's a Z and why is it calling me?
honestly, I have no interest in mirrorless. If I wanted a lightweight camera for hiking, I would just get a better phone and leave everything else behind.
I am quite happy with my DSRL kit. On the other hand, I could always use some better lenses: I see too much unused MF glass and not enough quality AF glass on my shelf, but there's a budget limit and this year I am spending my optical funds on Lasik rather than lenses.

If you want better phone and wide angle (know you like shooting wide), check out the Moment Wide lens for phones gives 18mm equivalent. I am impressed. A little flare in strong points of light i.e. shooting in the sun and have to get a dedicated case for your particular model of phone, but it is super quality.

My phone is a few generations too old for that one
I remember Buddy mentioning once that he would not be posting photos of his kid
That gave me pause then, but as with the many post-its that I place on me mental noticeboard, that pause made way to the indifference of life
Until a few days ago when I loaded up my flickr app to show Raylan some of my old photos (I tell him a bedtime story every night, and only of my own adventures. I been telling him about Nikki, tomorrow's on when I met Dean in Hong Kong...)
Noticed I had someone following me.
And I haven't been posting anything new since.
Checked out his profile, and the first red flag was that he had no photos to share.
No albums. Nothing.
This just usually means I shrug it off as spam and block the user.
Until I accidentally clicked on what he followed.
Child photography groups and sex-related ones.
And he follows >18,000 other members; on a random check, are of other users taking family photos with at least a kid in them.
Reported though I don't know what Flickr can do.
Made everything private instantly.
This together with a really rough time at home has got me bristling with rage.

While staying at our agriturismo near Parma we visited a cheesemaker who took us through the process of making Parmigiano-Reggiano . Thankfully Ingrid is fluent being half Italian and she translated for us. We bought some 36 month old cheese at factory prices and I've just enjoyed some grated over spaghetti alio olio peperoncino! Delicious.
Wooo yum. That is like a piece of gold right there, oh everywhere.
Hi Zichar,
you should report it to Flickr ! Some time ago there was a full "attack" of pseudo russian ladies following some of us. Same thing, no pictures, no albums, recent inscription... Of course many of us blocked them, but we also alerted Flickr! And after a few days, those "attacks" stopped (I had maybe fifty of those in a few days)!!!
As Smugmug is taking over and getting new teams in action, you remarks on such behavior would be useful to all !

Yes, I did say that right from the start. I broke the rule a few times however, and reading your account I instantly regret that I did. Still, there are so many things I would like to share, but this world contains individuals that make me think twice and thrice about sharing publicly.
Now that you bring up the topic, there is a little anecdote I can safely share on any platform.
Anouk came into the room a few days ago and told Kristina that she spilled water.
Kristina asked: Where did you spill water?
Anouk answered: In daddys shoe
Kristina asked: How did that happen? Why in daddys shoe?
Anouk answered: So as daddy can not go (Anouk just turned two. Grammar still is something that needs a little practice )
Kristina asked: Where should daddy not go?
Anouk matter of factly stated: So daddy can not go to work (and beamed proudly of her achievement)
I hope your tough time at home soon turns for the better though. Worries at the homefront are the more difficult ones. Worries at work can just be forgotten when you get home, but home is where you want things to be good.
I still do not own a camera. There are lots of cameras calling, and I hear them, but my pockets are still rather empty, and my car broke down again.
As a little bonus, I just got a doctor examine my back, because I suffered from some minor back aches for some months now. As it turns out, I suffer from Bechterews disease. Won't get better, but I can now take care that I try to slow down the rate at which it gets worse.
We were out in the woods yesterday. That still is where I feel most at home. Borrowed Kristinas D800 to make two photos
And here is a photo from my little prototype/EDC I made from a Mora blade. I kind of use this as proof of concept, carrying it with me at work and wherever I go, using it for all kind of tasks. Just to make sure it doesn't break. As long as it doesn't, I know I did the other knives I made well too.
The handle was made of two leftivers of pen blanks and some left over buffalo horn and moose antler

Great images Buddy! Love the colours but mostly the knife Boys love toys
Sorry to hear about Bechterew... It is the same thing I do suffer for my last 35 years... The problem is that my simptoms were not clear enough and for several years doctors went astray with the diagnostic, doing me a very, very bad thing. So, if is a proper diagnostic and if you look for yourself, is not a big deal. I know you have good doctors but if no anyone in the last three generations of your family did not suffered of Bechterew there are major chances you to have something else and I'll highly recommend a second doctor opinion.
Take care!

We were due to fly to Tokyo today for three weeks. But last Friday, my wife had a sudden onset of abdominal pain. Paracetamol and ibuprofen didn't improve things; she needed to get to the emergency department.
My parents were no longer in Singapore and at 1230am, I couldn't leave Raylan home asleep alone. It's about then that I realised how alone I was too; called a few of my friends but didn't get an answer. So I packed her in the taxi for the hospital (6minutes away thank goodness). We kept in touch until she faded into unconsciousness after they gave her a jab of something.
Turns out she was bleeding internally. Surgery happened Sunday and she's in the clear for now. Insurance has been a nightmare for the medical fees (employer's insurance trying to shunt it to the private insurer) although the airlines and Airbnb have been wonderfully kind.
We're heading off to Japan this Sunday instead. Something about taking chances when we have them. To ahem keep things relevant, my load out will probably have to change as I'll probably be taking almost all the load. The original plan was the Fuji 21, Nikon 35/2 and 50/1.2; the latter two on the speedbooster.
Now? I don't know, just the 24/2 and 50/1.2? I can make do with the phone for 28mm coverage
