Milky Way and various other light sources: trucks cruising up the valley on US395 bringing goods to the stores in the the small communities along the Sierra Nevada. More lights from early bird day hiker cars congregating on the Whitney Portal road. The huge yellow shine is Las Vegas light pollution, a long long way to the south east. This is 4:03 am on top of Mount Whitney.

Well yesterday I got to handle the Z7 and have to say it is terrific. Huge right hand grip which makes me very happy. Noticeably very light weight. The top of the camera seems uncluttered and the back looks like a traditional DSLR.
It seems very solid and that makes it feel very well made. My $ .02 !!

Excellent Steve - Why are you complaining about the weather? It adds mood and a real sense to these places.
That is what Scotland is all about and you have captured it's essence well.
As others have said - the series is great. Kilt Rock falls is my favourite.
I trust McStokesey was wearing a kilt when those pictures were taken
Now THAT would be a picture!
Colin
Colin,
I would never disrespect the weather in Scotland. It is what makes Scotland, Scotland.
And I would move home back there in a heartbeat if the circumstances permitted.
It's why I love the place so much - that and France.
As for kilt wearing ..... lead me to the woollen mill ..... got the legs for the sox and dirk.
Maybe not something that should be seen in pubic really.
So I make these observations about people who want to visit places around the world.
Unfortunately those from the USA seem to be in a hurry to visit as many places as possible. For instance, an American family of five arrived at the shore of Loch Lomond, leapt out of the SUV that they were travelling in. Got out their phones (cells) and took pictures of each other on the bonny banks of Loch Lomond. Then back into the SUV for the next destination . Great .... but not what any of the members here would do !!
I must say that whilst at the side of the Loch, you can get to see all four seasons in one day ..... or even more seasons perhaps.
This is in no way to slight any nationality of people, just a general observation.
So here is a view of Loch Lomond with the weather rolling in from North (right edge) to South

Good to hear this, Ken! I do have itchy hands... waiting for my pre-ordered Z6. Did Nikon announced in US & UK when Z6 will hit the shelves? On the website of the local distributor from Bucharest, on my pre-order says "delivery until November 12"... I took this as a promise, but I dunno for sure... that's why I have itchy hands

Thanks George! Well, maybe the Bucharest distributor wished to say 12 December There's no chance to start here before in US... probably would be in the same day. Woe of my itchy hands

In the US the release date is Nov 30th.
While staying at our agriturismo near Parma we visited a cheesemaker who took us through the process of making Parmigiano-Reggiano . Thankfully Ingrid is fluent being half Italian and she translated for us. We bought some 36 month old cheese at factory prices and I've just enjoyed some grated over spaghetti alio olio peperoncino! Delicious.
