We went to the North Carolina State Agricultural Fair today. Posting a few taken with the Leica M and Nikkor 5cm 3.5 LTM lens that I posted torn down from my CLA a few weeks ago.
Thank you for the kind comments. Last of the psycho colours.
I should be making more of nature's autumnal show.
'Ghost Train' was with the 105/2.5 and the others with the 28/2.8

The leica thread nikkors and non-ai nikkors are the reason a z6 is on order.
I am re-thinking my Z6 order. Partly because my 7 year old MacBook Pro finally decided it was overdue for an update so my expendable funds went to purchase a new one today
The other reasons I will probably delay a Z6 purchase is using the LTM lenses. The larger lenses will probably be ok (8.5cm and up) but using the small LTM and M lenses adapted is butt ugly to that style body in my opinion.
I am also following discussions around sensor cleaning for the new Z cameras. Since the sensor is exposed during lens changes and because it is such a shallow flange distance it seems to be very prone to dust, etc. I have been cleaning my own sensors for a long time and am very comfortable doing it. But the Z is different with the sensor being mounted on a stabilizer. So may be at risk for pressure of a sensor cleaning the way non stabilized sensors are currently done. I am following Moose Petersons blog and see where that goes.
So for right now, I will run with the D850 and Leica M. Yeah I know. Such a first world problem.
Shooting the LTM lenses on a true rangefinder is such a great experience for me. I may miss critical focus now and then, and it is slower, but for right now, that can't be beat. So the GAS has waned for now.

I hope you like the new MB. I heard some folks like the older versions better.
Well in the limited time with it this afternoon, it blows the doors off my old one processing big D850 raw files in Lightroom. Night and day difference and so much lighter. And it should be considering how old my other one is/was.
If this one lasts another 7 years I will be very happy.
So glad you are enjoying it. Those old lenses are meant to be used.
Did you get a frost last night? End of the growing season? Calling for a chance of patchy frost here tomorrow night. It is a welcome relief from the heat and humidity this summer.

Your analysis touches a chord with me. I also read about the sensor exposure and potential sensitivity to cleaning pressure. The aesthetics of the adaptor, plus the inflated UK cost, puts me off. I am prepared to sit it out and wait for FM real world reviews to filter through. No pressure then Raphael.
Ken and Mihai - I believe you have ordered Z cameras?
I'd trust all of your reviews over many of the usual internet experts.

I am still excited for most adapted F mount lenses, but will see how the sensor cleaning goes. Especially as much as I change lenses. Not like I would get the Z mount 24-70 and leave it on most of the time.
Seems the shutter could be set to cover the sensor when the camera is off during lens changes by default with a firmware change. Like Leica does and (cough, cough) Canon is doing on their mirrorless that was just released.
Would probably still get it if my Macbook had not died. Need a little more time to build the hobby funds back up. I have mine ordered at a local shop. So I know someone else will pick it up. Plus I also only ordered the body and FTZ adapter bundle. Seems those "packages" will be rare. At least they are for the Z7. I can walk in today and pick up a Z7 package with lens or a body only, but if you want the cost savings of the bundle with the adapter only, those are not available
May be different on your side of the pond.
So I will still stay on the wait list, but may pass when my name is called.
Early this morning (well, more like 8am, but it was still pretty socked in and dark) with the 300/4.5 ED-AI at f/8.
Hand-held at 1/100sec (thank you A7RIII IBIS!).
