How about that... tomorrow is the day then Ken. Happy birthday!
Glad to see your name show up on the thread my friend. I don't imagine you're much in the mood for celebrating but such is this crazy thing called life. We're eternally balancing on the edge between living and dying. I found a quote I used in the forthcoming Living/Dying Project newsletter that says it all...
You can plan for a hundred years.
But you don't know what will happen
the next moment.

Life has its way with all of us. We're left making the best of it all.
Perhaps a day with your camera in hand would be a good way to honor your birthday.
In Provincetown, Cape Cod. Nikon Df and 24 3.5 PC-E. The lens vignettes severely at the top with the Df, at full vertical shift. I don't think that's an issue with the D800.

Thanks Samy. That shot above had me smiling in wry amusement; even Love and Happiness has a For Lease sign...
Very wry observation Chin... such seems to be the nature of both love and happiness... never owned but occasionally on lease. We do the best we can with it all.

I never use the focus peaking : it doesn't work with large aperture lenses and above f/2.8 I shoot hyperfocal.
Frankly OVF is way better than EVF execpt for night shots.
Some leica lenses are real bargain : I paid less than USD200 for a fabulous (and 120 grams) 40mm summicron-C, USD300 for the 50 Cron-R, USD500 for the 180mm Apo-Telyt and USD700 for the outstanding 35 Summicron-M.
I promise you Philippe, if I'm ever in the market for Leica lenses I'll ask your advice. The range of prices I see is mind boggling... I see a Leica Summicron-M 50 f/2 for $1,699.99 and a Summircron-M 35 f/2 for $2,999.98 on E-Bay, so obviously there are Leica lenses AND Leica lenses. I honestly doubt I have another lens adventure in me so learning the nuances of the Leica world will likely have to be in my next incarnation...

For sure a middle aged man (like me) might want to gravitate towards shooting candids of pretty women all the time but the richness of human form should not be overlooked - therefore I try to capture a broad spectrum of characters.
These might be more to your liking. (Last ones - I promise - for those of your getting saturated with London lifeforms)

Oh, yes, yes, yes! If Reagan moves to London I will move as well Seriously now, the first picture, with these „lost pixels” in the hair, is really outstanding. Don't stop, please!

Thanks Mihai,
Having met Reagan in Florida earlier this year I doubt he would leave the Floridian climate behind - except to head even further south. We have had a fabulous summer in the UK this year but today is pretty miserable and typical of what Curtis recently described.
The low setting sun was shining straight down Piccadilly and into my eyes for the 'lost pixel' shot. My D610 did its best but shooting from the hip into variable light and shadow streams generated some interesting shots that I have had fun with in LR.
As much as I love the 24/2.8 NC is does flare horribly. I had removed the HN-1 hood - which was probably a mistake.
