Made me google... I never knew there were so many varieties of watermelon!
Raylan just loves watermelon. And when I say love, I mean that childlike obsession - if it's not watermelon I am not touching it, fold arms, haughty stare - a 3 year old can possess...
I think it will be interesting to see how folks on this thread evaluate the Z cameras over the months to come. Several pages back, Philippe commented that he never uses focus peaking because it doesn't work well with large aperture lenses. This has been my experience as well. With my Sony A7RII, the focus peaking is hit & miss at best. On the other hand, the magnification tool may be the best manual focus method I've ever used. I'm not certain if the Z cameras have this feature, but I hope they do. Here's several recent shots with the 105mm 2.5 ais and the 50mm 1.8 ais (long nose).

Leighton, Lost in a Book is damn good! Setting, light, idea, processing...
Samy, I enjoyed all your images from Cape Cod. Thanks for sharing!
No, I feel Colin is afraid of competition
Thank you Mihai.

You're right. Forgot all about the magnification tool, it's brilliant! I have mine set to one of the function buttons for quick usage.
Mirrorless is sure a fad nowadays. I had the $18 N8008 on the tripod yesterday and someone stopped and asked me if it was a mirrorless. Did they think I had an early copy of the Z6/7? I had to disappoint them by saying it was an old film SLR.
Leighton was kind enough to let me peak through his Fuji and get an idea about focus peaking, at the market last year. Definitely intriguing, and I am sure we will hear a lot about it when the Zs show up in the hands of a couple of thread denizens.
Chin, Sue would be standing right next to Raylan demanding her watermelon... AND, she would say the yellow watermelon is the best tasting with the best texture. We'll be heading for the farmer's market shortly and no doubt looking for end of season watermelon. She is eating raw for most of each day, so she loves melons. If the texture is firm she eats slices then and eats the fruit. If the texture is not perfect she'll juice them.

First outing with the 28mm f2.8 AIS George sold me.
This one shot at around 5:30am was at 12,800 ISO. Not bad for a cropper.
All well and good Leighton, but we want the REAL photo... the one that matters the most!
Sue pointed out last evening a WEDDING photo of you and Barbara posted on your Facebook page since, if I understand correctly, YESTERDAY was you anniversary... I'm guessing the photo taken decades ago was taken with a Nikon camera and manual focus Nikon lens, but even if it wasn't, our friends here deserve to see your handsome face as a newlywed... though I know for a fact Barbara was much prettier than you were...
When you get home from the market, you better take care of this important business...

Yes, I do... and practice has been that at least a LINK could be provided... though we have made exceptions when we've shared photos from yesteryear and I think this surely qualifies as a reasonable exception... Come on buddy. If you don't do it I'll have to search it out on Facebook and provide a link... Inquiring minds and all.
