@Fred Miranda, what qualified as a "Super Big" thread? The Automotive thread went from 90 pages to 1 page.

Hi guys,
I'm still looking at some bugs that emerged from this code. This is not about storage costs, it's about site performance. There are 250 threads like this one that are super big and impacting the site in a way that it's crashing the server down almost daily.
This change was done to avoid this from happening while still keeping the data intact and accessible.
So, all the posts are still here. The difference is that they are located in 2 database tables instead of one.
No pushing or pulling Leighton, very much box speed. The Adox CMS 20 is slow so need tons of sun, but the results are very contrasty, sometimes too much.
Laura, just because a majority of the posts get dumped into a different database table does not mean one can not set up a view where the thread can be seen as a single entity. I can see the code in my head, but its been over a decade since I coded seriously, so i am not exactly qualified to say if it really can be done with Fred's performance and other constraints. Having already migrated to the current architecture, it may not even be feasible to get to what I am suggesting, may just be too late.

Scott, indeed there is color around, its just my frustration at the long winter that this year I refuse to see it And that's a lovely subtle rainbow!
Winter is starting to wear a bit thin isn't it. Maybe we will see some of Reagan's temperatures in a few months.

Yes Samy, there is color if you look hard enough. Just a touch of a rainbow in this scene. Taken with the 55 f3.5 Ai. Thanks for looking.

Wow, beautiful shot Scott. I can only imagine being in that spot fly fishing.
Trying out the new Nikon D750 that I am dedicating to the Nikon manual lenses. What a perfect camera except for the OVF. My eyes require either a split image focusing screen or an EVF these days. I ordered a focusing screen and I am hoping it does the trick.
A couple of images taken yesterday at Higgins beach in low tide with the Nikon 28mm 2.8 Ai-s (EXIF says 50 but it was the 28).

Raul, I put a Type K3 split image screen from focusingscreen.com in my Df and it works great. Just be careful with keeping up with the shims and careful handling the screen itself. They all scratch easy.
