Eike, hope whatever is causing the turmoil settles down.
Colin, Jeff, Glen, Luka, Jay - excellent pics!
There's more elegant, and less choppy ways to deal with queries returning huge sets. Hope Fred is able to consider other means to deal with the longer threads.
One more from last Sunday, this is with the same camera/lens combo I had in London when I ran into Colin near the London Eye - Nippon Kogaku 5cm f2 HC LTM lens on the Voigtlander Bessa R. Trying out JCH StreetPan 400 film, not too shabby for a film made by a website.

First of all... I didn't think ANYONE in Baltimore was talking about ANYTHING other that the basketball victory of a small college in your neck of the woods over the NO. 1 rated team in the country, Virginia. It was the first time a 16 seed in the NCAA tournament beat a number 1 seed. You can celebrate St. Patrick's Day any old year, but this basketball win is for the ages...
Besides, what are those Scots in kilts doing at an irish celebration? Ohhh... the Irish have kilts too, I just learned after a search. But I wonder if these are authentic? We'll have to ask Colin about this.
Colin, no, sorry, I don't. I have stuck to black and white film for months. Probably to protest the long, colorless winter in these parts
Well actually I did have Velvia 100 in the SP; that roll also came back from development recently, but it didn't participate in St. Patrick's day celebrations. That must be the only color film I have used in the past many weeks.
Well looks like we have a lot of posting to do to get the thread back up to full strength
My contribution to that effort with this one.
Posting a series from my trip down east a little over a week ago. These are from a small natural area on Bogue Banks surrounding the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium. It is the Theodore Roosevelt State Natural Area. It was donated to the state of NC in 1971 by Theodore Roosevelt's grandchildren as a living memorial to the 26th president.
It is an outstanding out and back hike that includes a trip through a maritime forest, views of Bogue Sound and views of brackish and salt marshes. In a couple areas you have all in one view. We have been going down here for years but this is the first time we visited the trail. Usually we are there in the middle of the summer and unless you are drenched in DEET, the mosquitos will carry you away.
We did not see a lot of wildlife this time of year but always good to see nature in different seasons.
All pictures below with the Nikkor 3.5cm f/2.5 LTM lens on the Leica M.
The two largest threads are this one, Manual Focus Nikon Glass, and Mustant Air to Air (Part 2) MA2A had 4800 pages, and this one had almost 6000 pages before the reduction. Other threads had some 90 pages, like the Automotive thread, while Your Best Nikon Shots had 739. Perhaps storing the DB's for the larger threads (1000+ pages) to one server, and leaving the others on the other server might be an acceptable solution?
One of the GALS here.

Hi guys,
I'm still looking at some bugs that emerged from this code. This is not about storage costs, it's about site performance. There are 250 threads like this one that are super big and impacting the site in a way that it's crashing the server down almost daily.
This change was done to avoid this from happening while still keeping the data intact and accessible.
So, all the posts are still here. The difference is that they are located in 2 database tables instead of one.
Thanks Chris, but have had very little joy connecting with the past.
Quite frankly the archive is a mess. Going back to earlier years, using "My board posts", I have not been able to find any images or posts related to this thread but have found some relating to other topics.
While I understand the need to save space, a little warning would have been nice.
As Curtis says not much point in looking backwards.
Even more annoying is the fact that all my uploads are now done to 16 pages of thumbnails - this despite the statement on the "membership"page that says -
Manage and showcase all of your uploaded photos in a gallery of thumbnails. Just click on any image in your personal gallery to quickly access the post where the full image was originally uploaded.
Some is not all and this was my way of sharing with friends and family.

I hope there was a way to avoid duplicate page number with two database. Having multiple 'page 422s' make it quite messy. Say it only shows page 6000 and after, and need to go to the archive for the page 1 - 5999. Oh well, I know nothing about coding, so I have no idea what that entails.

The thread has been narrowed down a lot. Hope Fred will be able to fix the bugs so that we can enjoy the history of the thread. I guess the thread will keep on growing anyway, nothing can stop us
Jay, love that last from valley of fire.
Colin, awesome shots from Scotland.
Luka, nice b/w street shots. Have you tried the 55/3.5 on infinity yet? I´ve not. I had the lens mounted yesterday but not for very long though. perhaos I´ll take a walk tonight and try it out.
Glen, nice bird shots.
Jeff, beautiful pano!!
Chin and Curtis, great to see shots from your adventure.
Samy, nice one from St Patricks day.
Leighton, nice shots from your farm!
George, love your last set. The colours and rendition reminds me somehow of what the 50-135mm does.
