My experience is that buying manual focus lenses from E-Bay is really the way to go. You will find a wide range of items to consider and buyers are given considerable protection. Many of the lenses in my kit were bought from E-Bay. Japanese merchants, in particular, are excellent. This is a fine option at a very reasonable price. Enjoy the lens. It is a fine performer.

Thank you for your advice again! I bought one from Ebay that was within the serial range you mentioned.

THIS IS GORGEOUS!!! May be your best ever.
Thanks Leighton.
I was supposed to visit last weekend but 15 inches of snow put paid to travel plans.
I keep questioning why I live 450 miles south of my childhood home and this beautiful landscape. I have a heap of images (panos) still to go through but that will need to wait until I get home.

I live about 600-700 miles north of where I would like to call home
but the wife says we are not moving there
As promised... a photo of a real life photographer who occasionally spends time in our midst, who is visiting the San Francisco Bay area on his way home to Singapore. I took a bit of time to process photos from this afternoon before I pick Chin up at his Air BnB lodging around the corner and head to Sue's home for dinner. This was taken with the 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI as we stood atop the dam that created Alpine Lake which is part of the Marin Municipal Water District reservoir system. More will appear, perhaps later this evening but certainly in the coming days. We're having some interesting conversations, none of which have anything to do with lenses or photography... go figure.
Couldn't resist this one... apologies for the size but honestly, the scene deserves this kind of treatment. This was shot as we began our descent from the top of Mount Tam. San Francisco has been socked in with fog when I picked Chin up at the airport at 8:30 a.m. and I wasn't certain it was even worth driving to the top of Mount Tam. But the skies cleared both over the mountain and over the city... though fog remained. We pulled over on the road heading down eventually to Stinson Beach and i caught this with a sequence of photos taken with the 135 f/2.8 K AI. It really required a bit of work in Silver Efex Pro 2, but I was happy with the result. Enjoy!
I managed to get out to nearby Hemer Provincial Park today for a couple of hours with my X-T2 and a few MFN lenses. Here are some shots taken with the 55 f/1.2 SC as I walked along the shore of Holden Lake.

Funny that - my wife gives off the same vibe.
We will be sampling your climate in 5 weeks time. Beach, books, beer and hopefully some Gulf coast sunsets.

Colin, absolutely stunning landscape photo, must have been quite a sight to see in person. And we probably live where we do because of the people that are there :-)
Nice B&W of the bay and downtown, Curtis. Gotta love it when good light, good clouds, and good company are all present.

Good to finally meet you Chin. Take it easy on the old man during your visit, wouldn't want to wear him out.
BTW Curtis, love the B&W of downtown.
It is 8:30 a.m. and you nailed it... I'm tired from a long day with Chin. As has been evident on this thread when he has shared photos and joined the conversation, our friend has an active mind and the banter through the day was far reaching and always interesting. We left it last night that he'll call me when he feels rested. At the moment I'm sipping Singapore breakfast tea he generously brought as a gift. Since his flight leaves after midnight and I intend to drive him to the airport, this will be another long day. I think I'll need to build in nap time...
And living proof that Chin and I are both here at the same time... Sue took this with the 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI, though I had to remind her after the first shot that simply depressing the shutter button half way wasn't going to take that lens to focus... But she did fine.
