The Lady we came to see up close. Our tickets allowed us onto the pedestal.
We decided against going to the very top knowing there would be along wait (plus a $$ add-on).
Thanks Leighton and Colin. That was a good morning out.
Did a quick run through the past couple month's activity, and played with what might look good starting out with the LR faux IR preset, plus some tweaking.

Radio City Hall.
I have seen many images of this intersection and wanted to get my own version - but boy is it tricky with the traffic, pedestrians and idiots on e-bikes (disobeying the rules of the road).
We had tickets to go to the Rockettes Xmas Show. Fabulous btw.
No camera with me on the night of the actual performance since SLR/mirroless cameras are not allowed inside the auditorium. Fortunately our hotel was nearby so I was able to pop out late evening when things had quietened down a bit.

Lovely set from NYC Colin. Did these require a tripod?
Scott
Thanks Scott!
I didn't bring a full-on, proper tripod on the trip for fear of attracting too much attention.
I shot this location on a couple of occasions - with different lenses - but can't remember exactly what I did.
ISO not at 3200 so unlikely to be handheld for this set.
Most likely I used my little Gorillapod propped up on a nearby flowerbed wall or seat or bin.
EDIT - for the last one I was partially standing in the traffic lane so that one is definitely handheld.
Back in 2017 right after escaping from the hospital - I was swimming in a steroid haze of energy. Ran two rigs, the D800 with the 105mm f4 ais micro, and the 135mm f2 ai (not sure if i used an extension tube) and the D300 in D2X color mode. These two batches are from the D300 setup.

Yellow Flowers
The whole tree was in bloom with eruptions of Magenta flowers even on the trunk and branches
Leaving World Financial Center ferry station on the way to Mid-Town 39th Street.
Perfect timing for the setting sun hitting lower Manhattan.
No freaky PP going on here. This is what the scene looked like.
What an amazing city. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Oh man - I miss summer.
1st day of meteorological winter here in the UK.
Commiserations, Colin. I know the feeling. Should be hitting summer here now, but the weather has been giving us mixed signals. Still mostly cold, windy or lots of rain, which confuses everything, including the summer plants.
Continuing the colour theme.

A couple randoms with the 20mm f/3.5.
Great randoms matt. The nagle on the first shot is just right, and I love how the boat hull flows in the third.

I have forgotten how special the D2X color mode looks. Made me scramble tp check the modes on my Z's, alas no such mode. Now I'm going to have to search out some sort of profile to use in LR classic for this.

Went for a stroll at Balboa Park again, this time I took the S3 and 50mm Millenium with BW film, but we will not see that for a couple of weeks.
It is summer here from 10 AM to 5 PM, very sunny and in the 70s.
Also took the Z6 with the 2.8cm 3.5 rangefinder lens, it had a filter on it so the corners cut sometimes, does not bother me.
Balboa Park is a large oasis of peace in the city, not overtaken by homeless people.

Every time we go down to San Diego, we talk about going to Balboa Park…but never make it there. We really need to remedy that. Lovely shots!

Nicely seen! I didn’t know there was a Lens Turbo made for the Z to F mount. Is that new?
No, I bought it directly from Mitakon in November of 2022. I used it on a Zfc. When I sold the Zfc, I kept the LT because I knew that I would probably buy another APS-C camera at some point.

Having a lens turbo along with a regular adapter gives the user two lenses in one (at least with our beloved MF lenses). The main reason I'm staying with my APS-C camera.
