The way it pops against the background with the fall off in focus on the trees. It deserved some attention. Well done and well seen!

Thanks Matt and others who commented and "liked" that shot. It was actually a critical handhold climbing up from the waterfall shots. I had to show it some due respect

I was hoping for some thicker fog this morning but enjoyed walking around all the same. Shot with the ai 50mm f1.4 and the ai 105 f2.5.
Love the lone tree Harold. You should consider a high contrast B&W version.

I went to one of my favorite locations to shoot a 100' cascade falls. Water flow was light compared to other trips but still worth the climb down. I have posted from this location before but not from this vantage point. With the leaves off of the trees you can have a view to the top of the falls that you cannot see during other parts of the year. There is still a lower section but I have not made it down to explore yet. There was a lot of tree fall from what I suspect is the recent hurricane damage, and I was hiking solo. So common sense prevailed, and I did not risk going down further with slippery leaves on rocks and no cell coverage.
I am posting a behind the scenes shot showing the camera/tripod to give some perspective to the location. The remaining falls goes off to the lower right of that shot. I am coming back in a couple of weeks for some mountain bike riding nearby and may give a try in the lower section.
PC-NIKKOR 28mm f/3.5 with about 5mm rise and a B+W ND 10 stop filter. Going long exposure and full milky blur on the water with a 30 second exposure brought out the flow a little more than without given the low volume.

Wooded lane. Taken with the 25-50 f4 Ais. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful lighting on the trail, looked like it would have been a great day for a walk in the woods. I like that gravity created by that large tight group of trees on the right.

Well done on the color for a dreary day. I really like that third shot, I assume this is a historical battleground of some sort?

Glad you stayed safe. Wonderful shot, great effort to capture the top of the falls in this different season. I know some folks are not fond of the long exposure water effect, but I think this works very well here. Always enjoy the BTS pics as well.

Another cracking shot capturing Mother Nature and amazing light.
Thanks Leighton and Colin. That was a good morning out.
Did a quick run through the past couple month's activity, and played with what might look good starting out with the LR faux IR preset, plus some tweaking.

Radio City Hall.
I have seen many images of this intersection and wanted to get my own version - but boy is it tricky with the traffic, pedestrians and idiots on e-bikes (disobeying the rules of the road).
We had tickets to go to the Rockettes Xmas Show. Fabulous btw.
No camera with me on the night of the actual performance since SLR/mirroless cameras are not allowed inside the auditorium. Fortunately our hotel was nearby so I was able to pop out late evening when things had quietened down a bit.

Nice set Colin. I like your last shot vertical pano best. For me the lights from the background building on the right side of the frame adds depth to the scene.
