Some how I missed this before and MAN do I regret it. I love this. Had to download a copy so I could keep enjoying it.
Oak Island started a Lantern Parade last year. We caught it randomly and it was pretty cool, so we went back and walked this year. It’s gotten ALOT bigger, hopefully it keeps growing, pretty cool way to bring in the New Year.
All with the 55mm f/1.2, usually f/2 or f/1.2, you can usually tell by the spherical aberrations which was which.
Thanks Matt. I love this set, full of color and it looks like it was well worth a trip to see.

A few New Year's Eve day trip images taken with the Nikkor non-ai 50mm f2 lens shot in 590nm infrared. I spent about 3 hours shooting in the area where the first image was shot walking up and down the road shooting with various lenses in both color and infrared. It was quite amazing to see it in person.

At least the water wasn't a nasty chocolate milk color like when I was there a couple months ago. It was not even worth photographing.
Yes. As you well know, it's called the White River but sometimes is anything but. Glacial "flour" can make it white unless there's too much mud.

Thanks, Mary. I almost didn't post them, thinking they were too ho-hum. Just now looking at the sequence I thought of it as a metaphor for life. It first comes rushing at us, then flows past us, then quietly ebbs away.
Here are a few images of leaves to bring back thoughts of warmer days (specifically, September 29, 2023 ). These were shot with the D800E sporting, respectively, the 200 f/4 Ai-s micro (all but the second photo) and the 55 f/1.2 SC (second photo) at Nile Creek, BC.

Nice set Glen. I had to look up that color in your images. Its called green. Thanks for posting some. Its a nice change from the brown and gray here. September does seem like a long time ago.

Ken these are not ho-hum at all! I love your capture of the water! Perfect exposure for my taste! Ya sure can feel the cold just looking at this though! Brrrrrr
