Mine is soft in the corners and particulary bad when used on my IR converted D610.
That's why I tend to use the 18-35 G lens for IR work. It is super sharp throughout the zoom range.

While hunting a noticed some, just prior to the SIC coatings, had a blue/green coating? So I tried one - serial number 796xxx. It was so much better than any other 24mm Nikkor I had tried that I stopped looking for a SIC copy. My Lr database says I have over 7300 24mm f2.8 ais shots out of that lens, and it works well with IR.

That IR looks razor sharp.
My 24/2.8 NC is from ~1974 and is numbered 412xxx. I probably have a bad copy.

Colin, imo they all leave the factory as good copies. Stuff happens after that. Your IR always look great to me. My favorite IR lens is a Tokina f-mount 17mm f3.5 manual focus lens - fortunately, when you are shooting that wide, focus hardly matters at all.

Thanks Jim. This probably is the narrowest area of what will be the largest urban park in America. Peter Secchia (former ambassador to Italy now deceased) secured private and federal funds to acquire land or right of ways along the Grand River from Grand Rapids to Spring Lake Michigan. It runs through dozens and dozens of already existing municipality, and county parks - connecting them all into an approximate 30 mile long park. It also created a number of new parks through acquisitions, and improvements all through the chain. Paving, boardwalks, raised walkways through wetlands, bridges, bathrooms, visitor centers. The residents started discovering finished areas just a few years ago. When Barb and I started - it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Now, it is pretty busy, but that is good.

James, great captures of the young lady. I think she would look terrific with any lens.
The seaplane made a very rough landing on the East River. The eight passengers were rescued with no serious injuries.
The partly submerged plane is at right. The Queens skyline just keeps on growing
Better view of the scene, the weather was ugly.
X-E1 + 28/2.8 AIs
