I am going to see out 2023 with a few infrared images from my D7200, which was converted to 790nM IR in the summer of this year. These were taken at Forbidden Plateau at the beginning of September with the 55 f/2.8 micro Ai-s.

I still have the D40 and 55/2.8 which is a great combination. The Micro does not see much action as prefer using the smaller 50/2.

Rafael - I agree about simpler times, that last photo with the magenta lights and post apocalyptic clouds proves your point.

Here's a relic from a less sophisticated time - an establishment of the type likely to be busy tonight ushering in the new year.

I found an entertaining piece about it in the Anderson Valley Advertiser's archives dated 6 April 2018

Starting out the new year with a birding shot from a week ago, at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge in Outer Banks, North Carolina.

White Pelicans with some cormorants (I think) mixed in. There's a heron lurking at the far bank of the pond. The dunes overlook the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

Some flower pics from the Queenstown Botanic Gardens on Christmas Day with the GFX. I think with the 135/2. I tried and failed to use some extension tubes but it just wouldn't work, vignetting, sensor spots etc
