My kids host as well. Thanksgiving I buy the turkey. It's nice to just show up and enjoy, no cleaning before, no cleaning after.

The kids host now. We show up with something to contribute, eat, and leave. Took a while to adjust to not hosting, but I'm liking the new role we have.

These were done with a D810 @ 500 ISO with the 24mm PC-E at f/5.6 exposed for 1/2 second to 'stop' the whirling beams.
I think the attractive gradients are due to the subject, but I did use an altered gamma curve that might have slightly influenced the rendering.
That's really attractive Jay - as I scrolled down I saw the perfect Saltire - the flag of Scotland, to which I have no affiliation.
Such a well captured image.

This is Southern California, Christmas day was 72F, with warm pleasing sun, dinner was outside and noone was cold. Nikkor 15mm 3.5 ais. (Texas of Florida: I am not coming )
Another oldie, seems appropriate given the entirely monochromatic week this week. With the 35-200 that someone on this board had loaned to me to try out last year.
Kevin, wish you all the best and hope the New Year brings good health your way.
Mike, the new Z Noct is an absolute bomb, excellent photography. Keep them coming!
Regina and Mary, congratulations on the new toys. My fave Nikon cameras.
James, the Barbara masterpieces looks super tasty.
Andy, terrific photographs from the Hall of Flame, excellent moody colors.
Samy, great capture of the Pelican, nice colors.
Examples of the elaborate tile work in Lisbon which is everywhere including the sidewalks.
Took the first from the platform of the Santa Justa Lift (1902) which was designed by a student of Auguste Eiffel.
National Theater Dona Maria II:
Plaza De Los Restauradores, I was waiting for a willing subject to fill the gap. The pigeon came to the rescue as was rewarded with a generous amount of seed bread from breakfast.
Sympathizing with Rays monochromatic atmosphere these past weeks. Dense fog and maybe a splash of color. Taken with the 35-105. Thanks for looking.

Some left-over foggy photos. I had high hopes for the first one, but the oof foreground just doesn't work. There is a small island in this small lake. Only that island foliage is in focus. I should have just stopped down the lens. Mental note to revisit on the next fog day.
All shot with 5DS-R & 50mm f1.2 ais @ f2
"Contemplation Bench"
"Two-Track"
"Mirror River"
Variation on the previous river shot showing reflections both near and far shore. 8 image stitch
Thread has flown since I was last here yesterday morning. Museum pictures are so interesting, Andy, as are Serge's travels shots. Also can't go wrong with fog pictures(I love fog). When we had a break from hosting, I hoisted Df to eye.

Kasper, the look of the 0.95 photos is similar to what I get from the 200mm 2.0, but the focal length of the Z lens is more practical.
Unless, of course, it lands me in the doghouse. As much as I do love a fine piece of glass, and even though the Noct is especially great in low light, it would be cold comfort out there in that dark place!
I guess what I 'm saying is that I'd have some serious campaigning to do with senior management if I want to obtain approval for a Noct. And then I'd have to lie low for a while in my use of finances.
All of which is to say that I obviously haven't fully let go of the idea!
Meanwhile, in keeping with the many monochromes that have been emerging lately, here are a few from the X-T4 and Lens Turbo II at Big Qualicum River, with the capable assistance of the 135 f/3.5 QC (first and third photos) and the 35 f/2 OC (second photo). The first two of these images were processed in LRC and Nik Silver Efex, while the third was processed in DXO PhotoLab 7 with FilmPack 7.
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston (MA); noteworthy, the best artworks displayed there are from Italy; I felt home
