You're killing it with your IR work lately, Jim! I'm wondering what you do with respect to white balance for your photos. As I started looking into possibly converting my D7200, I saw on the LifePixel site that with many DSLR's, the white balance can't be set in a converted camera and that proprietary software from the camera maker is needed to set the WB in post-processing. How do you manage white balance with your photos from your Canon body?
On a different note, here are a few more monochrome shots in the visible spectrum from Cathedral Grove. The first two are from the 20 f/3.5 UD, the third is from the 5.8 f/1.4 S, and all are from my Fuji X-T4.
Rafael, excellent captures of the classics specially the shiny red Mustang. Too bad Ford has moved far away from the original concept.
Tolbooth Tavern ( ca 1591), Royal Mile Edinburgh.
Constructed to connect the Burgh of Edinburgh and Canongate and collect tolls from the passing traffic. It is rumored to be haunted with a shadowy figure knocking bottles off the tables and pictures from the walls. A chap accused of being a warlock was exorcised on the premises and died of fright shortly after the ordeal, yikes! The premises have also been used as a prison by Oliver Cromwell's guards and others.
The tavern does not look so spooky here. I should have visited and tried a house special, "Warlock Pie".
Thanks Raphael, That and the foliage and sky effect are what attracted me to IR. Sometimes, the dark tree bones reveal much more of the structure than visible light.

Love this series James, the water and dark trunks create a very interesting ambiance.
The Adobe profile editor, and DNG converter are free. With the 5D I made two profiles (color and b&w), I did the same with the 5DmkII, but I just haven't found a color profile I like. Perhaps with further attempts I will, but I am happy with the B&W profiles.

Serge, I love getting to tag along via photos on your travels, and the stories from the places you visit.

I like both with #1 slightly preferred. Those are very long carrots from apparently super soft and loose soil. Mine never came out that good - of course, I don't know what I am doing. :😀

Glen,
I was able to set the WB on my 720nm converted D7100 using the bright grass technique but it did take multiple attempts,
I didn't realize it that day I walked around at the waterfront, the haze from the forest fires was starting to settle in. A couple days after this it got really bad. We had a few days of respite, the pollution is back today in the air.
Reminds me, there was some dark history at the Tower of London too I didn't go in, but just walked around the outside at night. I have a few shots I need to find from March. serge07 wrote:
James, i am glad you enjoy the photos. The Tolbooth does have a bit of interesting and dark history which I was not aware at the time shutter clicks.
There is another pub, "The Last Drop" where death row prisoners enjoyed one last drink or pint. One can write books on the taverns of Edinburgh.
