Here is my final remaining group of IR images from Bald Mountain, with Fuji X-T2 and 35-200 f/3.5 Ai-s. I'm doing my best to gradually move my IR game up towards Colin's level of consistent stunningness, and I suspect it will take a while for me to reach that goal. In the meantime, it is yet another great way to enjoy these lenses.
I was waiting for the Z8, hoping for 60MP, did not get it.
As I do not like video and only use manual focus lenses decided to go for a used mint Z7, primary driver is more resolution for my lenses that do not fit the DSLRs, like the mirror up fisheyes.
Also bought a mint S2 on e-bay from a small Texas town, had wanted one badly but never expected to find a mint working one with lens, box and papers; even with a leather case. Also an EP marked one.

Enjoy the Z7, my Z6 is a dandy! Out of curiosity, Rafael, what town did your S2 come from?

Gorgeous S2 - congratulations.
How much time do you trawl the internet looking for these immaculate examples?
Maybe you have an AI 'bot scraping the metasphere for you?
I too was hoping for a really hi-res, non-video emphasized, Z8 and have formed the same conclusion as you so might go for a used Z7/Z7ii to up the resolution. Having said that a MF Fuji might also be a route forward - no thanks to George and Andy
Look at the thread early morning and apart from the always delightful photos and posts by all the folks here, there's two gleaming Nikon rangefinders to look at!!

Glen,
Thanks for the praise but it is all about having right lens/sensor/filter combo, low humidity atmospherics and mother nature to provide a view.
It has taken me a while to experiment and gravitate towards only a couple of lenses that are, in my opinion, outstanding in IR.
16/3.5 - super on a crop sensor but since I went to FX IR it doesn't get used much.
50/2 H or HC - my go to lens. Best lens out of my collection for IR. Also easy to stitch panos in LR when I want something a bit wider.
85/1.8 HC - nearly up there with the 50/2 but I don't use it much.
200/4 - very good when you need reach.
I rarely bother with focal lengths in-between anymore because I am usually disappointed with the results from the MF lenses I have.
When I do want to go really wide then the 18-35 ED G zoom is also very good. For the few AF lenses I use in IR I have calibrated and fine-tuned the AF in the D610.
Usually my ISOs are low (bright skies) but I have found that my PP flow - to darken the sky - can benefit from LR's new denoise function. The denoise smooths out the darker elements but also sharpens other areas up.

Hi Colin,
No Bot, all fingers. Don't spend too much time but look for one item at the time over many years. An important factor is that I do not hesitate to buy and return if unhappy with the condition.
Many of my lenses and cameras were sold with poor product photos by non-photographic equipment sellers on eBay, I take a chance the price is right and the item ca be returned.
Gorgeous S2 - congratulations.

The MF Fuji will not help my circular fisheyes, ergo a Z7 it is, lowest entry cost for 46MP on a Nikon mirrorless, and I guess for manual focus lenses it has the same photo image quality as any other 46MP Nikon camera.

Rafael, Congrats on the shiny - like new gear! Even the range-finder lenses are great for macro.

My apple tree is still blooming, this with the 13.5cm 1:4 rangefinder micro, a weirdly long (physically) lens that has a good reputation.
Busy couple weeks, a bit slow here but I’ll try and help move it along. 105mm f/2.5 in the Smoky Mountains. I liked these guys watching the mist move it.
