There's a lovely little place near the sea on the volcanic Banks Peninsular near Christchurch (named after Joseph Banks, Captain Cook's Botanist). It is called Akaroa and was the only French settlement in NZ. 52 miles from Christchurch.

New Zealand is so interesting. I never tire of the pictures you share, Andy.
I have been away for a period, and nice to see the pace pick up. I won't get caught up in commenting on pictures, but will say the conversation continues to be very enjoyable, and the photos inspire me to want to get out and keep clicking. One shout out to Andy, keep the NZ pictures coming.
