55mm still not letting go of D300s. I love that body. A boy asked what's in the black box, I had to explain what a macro flash is(R1C1 Kit I have neglected to use for a long time). So, in the spirit of demoing the flash kit, I went out to shoot the confused Lillies. They should be dead by now but these recent rains and following warm weather has them flowering again.
I haven't shot this in such a long time I think it shows.
Siphiwe, beautiful flowers. I especially like the isolation of the lily in the second shot.

Reminds me of the days I pushed to allow different camera manufacturers as long as a NMF lens was mounted. So I'm here to support George and say down with fascism!
Leighton I was arguing against opening up the thread. I wish you folks would have listened to me, then I wouldn't have ended up with everything from Barnack Leica to Gibellini 8X10. I know who to blame!

Siphiwe,
Love the colors on both! I still have my D300, and I just can't let it go either.

Barbara has been at it again. This time Streusel with Wild Mushrooms, Pancetta, Leeks, Potato, Pine Nuts in an amazing Sherry sauce. I don't deserve this, but I am not complaining. Nikkor 28mm f2.8 ais wide open on the 5D markII iso 800
The irony is that the red Lilly was the last shot, with ISO cranked up to 800 as it is much darker than the yellow ones. I shoot so much of these over the summer that they are just oh, another red Lilly. Thanks for the feedback. I thought the grain was getting a bit more pronounced but liked that the background had turned into almost a black backdrop, highlighting the flower more.
And don't forget I was once told that the V1 wouldn't count, either... and it wears the Nikon badge

So what did you replace it with? Won't be too hot the next couple days, highs in mid 50's, partly sunny, so there'll be blue skies and hopefully puffy white clouds for a background.

Subaru is long gone. Couldn’t stand it. Had it 11 months and 19000 miles and every mile it drove me crazy. I wrote Subaru questioning their clever design of “red lights flashing” on the dash when its automatic braking was engaged. It took your focus off the windshield to look down. Also having a light touch on the steering wheel it would blink a notice to put my hands on the wheel.
It was changed I was told and the idiot who designed it was probably promoted.

But, if you would have gotten your way, we wouldn't have seen all the beautiful images from you and your rarely seen gear.

Samy,
These are MF Nikkor images - the 28mm f2.8 ais. I did also shoot it with the Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM at f2.8 to compare. The results were similar. Some I preferred the Nikkor and some the Canon lens. In FM's reviews the Canon doesn't rate well at 8.3, and it's feature list is bizarre with "lead free glass" as a bullet point. The copy I have has excellent IQ. Thanks for the forgiveness - I need as much as I can get.

It is breakfast time and this looks delicious!! Jim, you are forgiven for posting a Cannon shot here.
Leighton,
No shipping, but you have an amazing prize near you. The Holy Cross Abbey trappist monks are making fruit cakes again after taking a few years off. In my family fruit cakes were re-gifted for years and years. Nobody knew how old they were, but we knew you should never eat them. When I met Barbara that all changed. At first we tried the Holy Cross Abbey booze fed cakes - it was a revelation! This, of course, became a challenge to Barbara - and she has since exceeded the monks. However, the Holy Cross Abbey fruitcakes are simply amazing. Might make for a fun photo safari?

Okay now I have a tiny hotshoe TTArtisans light meter set up on a film camera. Blame goes to someone on this thread, hadn't even thought about something like that a few weeks ago.
