I saw in a blog this morning that today is World Pinhole Photography Day. So thought what the heck. 30 minutes and some stuff laying around the shop and sacrificing a Nikon body cap (generic) and here we are.
Going downtown later and see what I can find to shoot.
From the steps in the first image (left to right):
1. Drill and counter sink a hole in the center of the cap
2. Sand down any rough edges
3. Cut out some thin aluminum or aluminum foil
4. Shape to size and I super glued it down
5. Using a small needle or pin, punch a small hole.
6. Sand down any rough edges and either use gaffers tape or flat black paint to reduce reflections. Or whatever else you may have around.
Is this ideal, nope, but didn't cost anything and was a fun morning project that I never expected to do today.

Does shooting through a Nikon body cap count?

Well it's been three months since I've posted a picture because my "buy and sell" expired and thinking of the "Friends and Family" incident where the sites BOT deleted my Christmas Post to Curtis I decided to "fine" the site three months of dues. Let that be a lesson.
I've followed very closely and pushed the like button many time. I've followed Raphaels lens test with eagerness and have a picture of an F4U Corsair to reward him.
George, you broke my heart as I was looking at Leicas, Whaaat happened? Never mind that was rhetorical.
Serge love the pics of old Italy.
Scott great camera and thinking you and Reagan are a lot alike in you camera choices.
Laura also have a few USMC Warbirds for you.
Leighton I retired 23 years ago this September and it took months before I broke the body clock at getting at at 0500.
Here is the Museum of the United States Marine Corps!

I think I read somewhere that Fujifilm was increasing prices on their film 60%. Have you seen that? Seems to me that if that's true, they will lose some film shooters.
A simple 35mm roll is often $15, minimum. Slide film even more.
I heard the train signal light up and I guessed at exposure. Got lucky, but was the victim of rolling shutter effect since I was shooting with electronic shutter.
Nikon body cap pinhole - ISO3200, 1/20sec, guessing around f/200 equivalent

Wow, love the set, this turned out better than I expected. Definitely the skill of a great photographer.
Thanks Leighton! The pinholes look ok at Instagram sizes, but if you look at them in large scale or full size, they are quite bad. But hey, you can’t beat the price of those optics.
Re: triptych… I think so? “ to impart narrative, create a sequence, or show different elements of the same subject matter”. But will definitely let someone who knows better say for sure. That is a big word for this southern boy

My ex SIL used to always say..."I don't know them big words." I'm not kidding. Could be one reason he's an ex.
I thought you were summarily banned by Ray, George, you still posting
Ray, the definition of lens on Merriam Webster starts with "a piece of transparent material, such as glass..". Could we give him a break if we consider air to be transparent material, and the fact that he refused to mutilate a real Nikon cap?
Guess we need a virtual “penalty jar” to put fines in for violations

Alright, Samy, but only because you are rooting for him, and flowers put me in a happy mood. He'd better watch it, and offer some Hassy/MF Nikkor penitence for good measure.
