Had the disectomy and disc replacement first thing yesterday morning. Started a course of physio today. Thought the op seems to have gone according to plan, it seems like I’m really going to be doing little over the next 6 weeks.
Glad to hear all went well. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

No op is a pleasure Siphiwe. Thinking about you and hope that everything goes well for you.
Incorrect, you will be doing your PT over the next six weeks, for sure. Even when you don't feel like doing it.
Glad things went smoothly.

Hi all, I bought a 50mm 1.4 Ai-S recently but haven't had a lot of time to use it. Today I noticed that it doesn't focus to infinity - neither on my Z7 (tried FTZ and Shoten adapter) nor my D700...
Does anyone know whether this is reparable? Too late to return the lens unfortunately..
Thanks
Felix
Edit: Found a youtube video that shows how to calibrate focus on this lens. Problem solved in 10 minutes, super easy!
Here's the link

Thanks for sharing that video Felix. He has a number of videos for service. I definitely bookmarked
Speaking of lens servicing…. Does anyone have a recommended source for procuring miscellaneous screws like those used in Nikkor lenses? I have tried calling a couple of repair centers, but not much help. Only thing I can think of is trying to find as-is lenses and salvaging from those. But that is an expensive route.

George, you may want to give this company a try. I bought from them several years ago and they had just what I needed.
I went to Virginia last night to check on generators and things to make sure my mom and sister were ready for the ice storm coming tomorrow. The sky was clear and cold and I had the monochrom with me with the 2.5cm Nikkor. I always keep a tripod behind the seat of my truck so I figured what the heck. Might as well shoot something
The moon was just out of frame in the upper left and created an interesting flare on this old lens. Constellation Orion is just off center to the left (see the 3 stars that make up the belt).
Definitely not something you would use to shoot the night sky, but hey... Shoot what you have with you, right
Have a good weekend folks. Leighton and Samy and anyone else ready for the weather, I hope you keep your electricity and don't have to go anywhere. Give me snow any day.
Squirrels are very entertaining. The cats and I gathered at the the "Big Scream TV" (the slider) today and watched this determined squirrel empty the bird feeder in no time.

Since the thread is in a lull, I will post one.

Snow, ice, then gusts of wind, all on the way between today and tomorrow. It is 10F (-12C) right now. Hoping those branches don't fall on the electric cables.
George, that is indeed interesting flare with the 2.5cm, and good portrait of Orion in your clear sky. I did get out yesterday just before the clouds completely blanketed the sky, still have to develop that roll.
