Is the gang still around?
I've come to be very adept at using my phone now for photos (Boo, hiss?)
And I reach for my camera only but rarely
Have been fighting demons in my head, this pandemic business hasn't been all that great for one's mental health
But there's no rest for the weary
Looking back, I do have something taken with the 50mm AIS
Her name's Edamame, we drew lots and Raylan won naming rights
The resemblance is uncanny, but I always have to remind myself it's not her, it's not Oolong Cha
It just isn't fair
Yet I can't help but compare
She's more skittish and not as calm, lacking the poise, obedience and temperament of her predecessor
Making up for that with mischief and misadventure
Embellished with boundless puppy-ish energy
Yet I can't help but compare
It just isn't fair
Colin,
I know, and it was surprising. I have rarely used my 400mm f5.6 because it was a bit soft. I got it on the cheap because the UV/Sky filter was glued or stuck, and there are many scuffs, scratches and marks on the body. Yesterday I tried my filter wrenches one more time on the 77mm SunPak brand filter, and it broke free. I can see what looks like annealing or tempering waves in the glass on the side that faced the primary object lens that I never noticed before. I was going to mod the 1.6 TC myself to get a bit of auto focus with my manual focus lenses, because my eyes are just not up to the critical discrimination needed. After I got it I then read how it really isn't much of a quality tele-converter - now I am thinking I should just leave it be. The locking pin doesn't work well, but it otherwise looks new. Paired with the Canon 5DS-R auto focus confirmation beep it worked great for an effect 640mm focal length.

Nikon D700 + Nikkor-H 50mm f2 ai'd. Moon rising last night. Chicago, IL. The colors from this combo always amazes me, kind of blows my Leica Q out of the water.

Jose, beautiful Cara Caras, great use of the 300mm 4.5K, will run a test of that and the ais with TCs.
Andy, your photography is up several notches and the dunes are super excellent, specially the last one with the flower.
Ray, good job moving the thread forward
Samy, your large format film is in a superior plane, do you print these for customers?
Siphiwe, may you heal fast and well!!!
Wild hair Colin!
Here is to your health Serge. Did you go to the basilica after the Chianti? great use of the 16mm.
John, 300 and 400 ED non IF, super clear air, sunset and Seatlle, WOW!
Jim, the TC16a can be good with some lenses, I use it with the 400mm 3.5 and it works great at closer distances.
Chin, phone does not take photos, only pics, you need both. On second thought just send me your lenses, they will be on good company.
Love the moonrise series Joe.
Classy images with the classiest of kits George
The pandemic turned me into a homebody, that plus all the house restoration work! never go out to photograph.
Must make do finding old photos, here with the 400mm 3.5 and TC16a modified, focuses very accurately, very sharp in the central area fully open at closer distances.

No snow in this one, there was a brief period in the morning yesterday when the sun still peaked out, got this in before the cloud cover took over.

Thank you very much, Serge. I am back home and discovering that it is much easier being hospitalised and cared for than being home and doing the absolute minimum. The battle is now a psychological one.
