Its not just wide angle, I have had trouble with a medium telephoto (maybe it was 85mm) where the subject was at a distance, and the peaking area was so broad, it just didn't work. Using the viewfinder zoom works best when you are on a tripod. Walking around with a camera its not so user friendly to be pressing the + button and chasing focus.

Ben,
Bottom of this post - 3rd button to right of "Profile" button - viola. The "sample image I just updated the link recently, because Fred ended galleries here about many years ago.

ha ha JIm, yes, found it, thank you..... reviews are under the "review" button, imagine that........no, I'm not a complete idiot, I was looking on a tablet and those buttons aren't there in that format. The penny dropped when you said 3rd button right of the profile button as there is no Profile button on the tablet.
I agree about the 200mm f2.8 too, another lens I brought with me. I would have gushed even more. It's very underrated.
I had the same experience with delivery, as did Reagan and Sammy. My 55mm f3.5 came from Indiana but it took a two week round trip across the US. Once it left the US it got here in a few days, but for some reason it sojourned for 15 days with tracking entries from different locations just about every day. But my favourite part of your story was that you "accidentally purchased" a 200mm f2. Really? You "accidentally" purchased it? How does one "accidentally" purchase a $2000 lens?

"DeJoy of da season"
a rant by a crazy ole guy
In the early part of 2021 I accidentally purchased the Nikkor 200mm f2.0 AI. The shipping was literally a sight to behold. Lens in Maine and me in Michigan. Shipping route? New Jersey to South Carolina to Georgia - then Saint Louis to Chicago to Ohio then a few more stops Detroit to GR then yeah, to me in 11 days. However, that is nothing compared to the latest purchase out of Denver. From Denver it went south 10 miles to Littleton for a 12 day stay-cation. Multiple polite "research supervisors" who "resolved" my case by saying they couldn't find the package. The Littleton customer service rep was more philosophical "it probably is still in transit". Then the package re-surfaced and went to three post office facilities back in Denver. It traveled due East a few miles to Aurora where it visited three more post offices for two days. Then it completely bypassed Michigan heading west to east to the wonderful city of Pittsburgh, and then to Detroit. And like a fool I thought..."well at least it is in the correct state". But alas, it went zooming east to west past me a second time to Chicago. Clearly routing mail could be done more efficiently by a fifth grader, but I feel better having told someone.

I drove 800 miles yesterday and am now in a motel in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, 200 miles south of the border with Queensland waiting on my PCR test results (I had one on Thursday the day before going to the cricket that was negative so fingers crossed for this one, should find out tonight)
Very impressive view of the Rod Laver Arena! Andy, are you off to see the second Ashes match?

You are spending too much of your time in the darkroom.
Scott, none at all. For 35mm and 120 film, Lab box is done all in the open, and you don't unspool the roll until the light tight cover is closed. For sheet film, I have a dark cloth bag to load the SP-810 tray in. Once loaded and the cover is on, the tray is light tight.

I tried both red, and blue. (Are those the options?) And I tried changing the sensitivity. Peaking is not for me.
Not sure with Nikon. On my Fuji I have red, blue, white and I think yellow. I love peaking. I have to admit though, sometimes I have to zoom to focus with some scenes.

Thanks Samy, annoyingly no, the 1st Test was in Brisbane last week when I was in Melbourne, the 3rd test is the Boxing Day test at the MCG but as of tomorrow I'll be in Brisbane ! (I would have gone to the tennis too if I'd been there still.)
That's why I went to the Big Bash game at the MCG last week (fisheye shot a few pages back, did you see that one?)
Only 10,000 spectators but at least I've been. (should be a full house on Boxing Day, 80,000)
To be fair, probably good to miss the first one at the "Gabb-atoir" !! Again, just round the corner when I briefly lived in Kangaroo Point I'll be 30 mins south of the city now to be near to work.
Update from the USPS front line,
I am gobsmacked! Last night USPS reported the package is "on it's way", and it had "arrived" at a nearby (12 miles away) city. This morning the happy blue "in transit" bullet has changed to scarlet red with this cryptic info. It "arrive" (no past tense?) to "UNKNOWN USPS FACILITY", and my happy blue "in transit" button, now red reads "DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER, SOME PACKAGES MAY BE DELAYED". You mean all this time was because of bad weather? I literally am afraid to call, because this package is likely to go sightseeing again.
EDIT:
I called, and again the USPS employees are incredibly polite and helpful. I gave him the tracking number and his first words were "Oh My God". I said, "yeah, I see well over 20 entries on it", and he mentioned a few I never saw - like it went to Florida too! He is sure that in a day or two it will arrive, and that it didn't "step off the planet". He had never seen "UNKNOWN USPS FACILITY" with a non-existent zip code before.
