The last 2-3 pages are amazing, had to stop trying to count how many amazing pictures there are! Chuong, have seen your post after some time. Welcome back!
I got there early to catch some early sun. But the weather super computers lied, instead of partly cloudy skies it was overcast and some times drizzly.
I stepped away from the computer for a few days and really missed some great photography. I'm in awe of what y'all can do with a camera and an old lens.
My wife and I went to the Georgia National Fair yesterday in Perry, GA and I took the IR D70 and Nikkor-O 35/2. Turns out that I only took a couple of photos. We spent a lot of time indoors in the livestock areas. Dark indoor lighting doesn't lend itself to IR photography.

I could use a little help and input from my friends here; if you were buying a new camera today to use with your Nikkor MF lenses, what would you recommend and why?
Here are my wants, as close a match as possible to use full quality of the lens, Top quality IBIS, Focus Peaking, body like Fuji's XT-4, it needs to be solid and well made and comfortable in hands. If its not the ZII series then it needs a great adapter.
Caveats, I have been looking at the XT-4 and the Z7II, but I think a Z6 II would work as well. As you may remember, I have a boat load of MF glass (see profile). I sold my X-pro 2 yesterday, and my Z7 goes up on the e block next, then my D500. I plan to have my D850 plus this camera I will buy as my two cameras. I do have a Metabones F to X converter still. This is very much about MF glass.. I barely even used my Z7, really didn't like it much, if it had IBIS I might have used it a lot more.
If you prefer to answer PM, that works too. I am sure this is a question many of you faced and already answered so I figure i could benefit from the groups wisdom!

Well...I like the XT-4 out of your choices, but I'm biased. And this is the reason I got the X-S10. Same sensor and processor as the X-T4. Of course there are differences in UI, size, weight, cost etc ect. Most of these differences really pertain to AF lens shooters, and of course video shooter which I'm not. The ONLY thing I wish I had was the size of the viewfinder of the X-T4, other than that, I am completely satisfied.
Having said that, you can't go wrong with either of the Zlls. In fact, every new camera built today can take fantastic photos. I almost went with the Z5, but in the end, I settled for the smaller form factor.
I need some of you experts to tell me if I have an issue or not with Nikki.
If you look closely at this image in the sky (on both sides about an inch in), you can see what appears to be flare from the sun, but the sun wasn't out when I took this. Any answers? I did not have a hood on.

Unless I am missing something the Z7 has IBIS.
My question to you is, how much do you want to capture the "characteristics" of these old lenses. I mean corner vignetting, edge softness, etc. Some say flaws, I say character My point being, using these lenses on a crop sensor just gives them a different feel. Now Leighton is doing outstanding stuff using a Speedbooster/Focal Reducer on his Fuji X camera and gives almost full frame field of view.
But since you had the X-Pro2 I am sure you are already aware of that.
I will let others chime in on the full frame Z stuff, and Ben is using a "C word" camera.
Not sure what the Z7II will give over the Z7... I guess real vertical grip option, 2 memory cards and some video enhancements I think.

I see it, as I recall I had similar issues with Nikki and a few others on non Nikon cameras. I ended up figuring it was a reflection of the sensor back on to the lens. Something about 85mm in particular on the Sony as my AI had worse than the older 85's.

yup, I forgot about IBIS on the Z7, since I am not to thrilled with that camera, maybe its the XT-4 and a speed booster, I didn't have the speed booster version of the metacones, just the cheaper $100 version. I think what worries me most about the APS-C is ISO performance. The Z7's as I read degrades IBIS to 3 Axis when used with the FTZ. Leighton, do you still get full IBIS on the Fuji with adapted lenses?
I need to confess that I love Fuji color rendering too! lol

Did you mean to say Z7? It does have IBIS.
It took me some time to get used to the Z6ii - all I can say is that the IBIS works great with MF lenses.

Thanks Ben though I must confess I had been watching the scene for some time as I drove. That and the lack of places to safely chuck a low slung car off the edge of the bitumen.
